Good Genes

I bought Sunday Riley Good Genes more than a few months back and is one of my favourite products with acid, I have used many acids and liked a few, and this is one of them.

Good Genes is described as “All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment is formulated with high potency, a purified grade lactic acid that immediately exfoliates dull, pore-clogging dead skin cells, revealing smoother, fresher, younger-looking skin. Fine lines appear visually plumped while the skin looks more radiant. With continued use, the appearance of stubborn hyperpigmentation and the visible signs of aging are reduced for a healthier-looking complexion. Perfect for all skin types and all ages, this treatment is enhanced with licorice for brightening, Good Genes clarifies, smooths, and retexturizes for instant radiance. “

This is a great product for dullness, uneven skin texture, dark spots, fine lines, and wrinkles. It is suitable for normal, oily, combination and dry skin types. For your reference, I have a combination skin type with occasional hormonal breakouts. The product comes in a glass bottle with a pump.

My Review

After using this product continuously in the beginning and occasionally when I have an acne flare-up, or I want that glow in the morning. This can be used both during the day (of course, followed by a moisturizer and sunscreen) and at night, but I do prefer to use this as a treatment during the night. I get such good results with this product that I can not say enough about it. Also, I do not use any moisturizer or night cream when I am using this during the night. I cleanse my face and apply this product to my face avoiding the eye area. In the morning, my face looks so glowy, clear and plumpy. It does give the feeling of new skin.

I have noticed less acne or hormonal breakouts when I use it and when I have a breakout, it does get better soon. With this, I have felt my acne scars fade much faster, which is like a miracle for me as I get a few new acne scars every month. I have not noticed such fast results with any other acid product I have used. Also, I did not notice any peeling or irritation with this product. I did my due diligence to use sunscreen the next day when I used this treatment at night.

This product has a different chemical kind of smell which fades away very soon. But once you see the results, you will not even bother about the smell. This is an AHA exfoliant, and this formulation of Lactic Acid works perfectly on the skin's surface and is very effective in resurfacing it. The effect of this product is almost immediate; I could see the glow even 5 to 10 minutes after application. It does absorb easily when applied and does not leaves any oily or dry feeling on the skin. The skin feels calm and smooth. I am a Fan and would highly recommend trying this unless you have very sensitive skin.
