The naturally-derived retinol in Skin Caviar Nighttime Oil is gentle even on the most sensitive skins. The lipids extracted from the caviar have vitamin D, omega 3, 6, and 9 essential fatty acids that deliver skin-caring properties. As a result, this unique blend of Caviar Lipids and Caviar Retinol works together as a team to boost collagen synthesis and skin renewal. Thus, mentioned as a line-smoothing treatment, it truly is. The Oil is packaged in a cobalt blue outer jar on the outside and an opaque black inner vessel that holds the formulation. A dropper is provided to dispense the oil.

How I Apply It?

In regard to my skin, I am most worried about the lines on my forehead and the fine lines that have started to show now. So, it was a test I was very excited about when I started testing Skin Caviar Nighttime Oil. I am not new to retinol, so I indulged directly into this nighttime oil. I took 4-5 drops of this oil and gently warmed it between the palms of my hands. Then, keeping my hands flat, I start with a sliding motion between eyebrows, slide up to the forehead. Then, continue towards the temples, slide across the cheekbones towards the top of the nose and continue down to the jawline. Next, I slide the fingertips of one hand around the contours of the mouth. Finish by sliding fingers along the jawline from chin to earlobes. Then, I repeat the entire pattern until absorbed.

My Thoughts

La Prairie Skin Caviar Nighttime Oil is a lightweight, silky oil, unlike any other, I have used. It is to be used as a last step in the skincare routine. Yes, even after the moisturizer. I cleanse, tone, put on eye cream, and apply my serum before using this nighttime oil. If you are new to retinol or want to try it for the first time, you can mix 3-4 drops into your moisturizer and apply it instead of directly applying it. Then, make it part of your routine on its own as your skin becomes used to it.

It has been more than 6 weeks since I started using this nighttime oil and I am halfway through the bottle. Skin Caviar Nighttime Oil has a silky lightweight texture, as I mentioned earlier. It has a nice slip to it, so is perfect for applying, glides easily, and massages nicely. I have noticed the lines on my forehead are less noticeable and the fine lines are mostly diminished. Acting on fine lines and wrinkles at a good time with an excellent product. It worked! Overall, my skin is bright, hydrated, supple, and youthful. I have not experienced any dryness or irritation with this oil. Most importantly, I make sure to use sunscreen the next day, as with any other retinol or active product. My skin looks and feels smooth and firm. I plan to keep using it in my skincare routine regularly.

I love the result when I use it over La Prairie Pure Gold Radiance Concentrate. My skin is so bright and youthful.

As with other products from La Prairie, the Gold Collection has unique packaging. Elevating the height of craftsmanship, both culturally and ethically, this time is no different. The grace of golden hour is depicted nicely in the brushed metal casing and cap of its first replenishable cases. The glass vials containing the precious formula are to be replaced by the new ones, once empty.

Why Gold And What is La Prairie's Gold Diffusion System?

Gold is a precious and rare element. It is a noble metal, which means, it has outstanding resistance to oxidation, least reactive metal towards atoms or molecules at the interface of a gas or a liquid. This precious metal has a lustre that does not change with time. It stays and stays the same. The radiance and hue of gold are due to its electrons that absorb energy-rich blue light and reflect complementary yellow light as a warm tone. It is similar to the same as found on radiant glowy skin. Apart from the reflective lustre of gold, the properties of gold at the submicron level allow for the higher concentration of gold atoms on its surface to get attached to the active ingredients. Then, it allows those active ingredients to allow them to release in a time-controlled manner on the skin's surface.

This is where La Prairie's exclusive new Gold Diffusion System comes into the picture. It works with the above-mentioned properties of gold and forms a three-peak action sequence to deliver the benefits of the active ingredients to the skin. Once applied, the first thing I notice is the instant radiance from the gold particles on the skin's surface. Then, the infusion of replenishing active ingredients provides nourishment and revitalizes the skin. The steady release of these active ingredients attached to the gold submicron gold particles completes the sequence. This helps with the long-term skin benefits as they penetrate the skin in steady but delayed infusion.

My Thoughts

La Prairie Pure Gold Radiance Concentrate is a revitalizing serum with a rich fluid consistency. Fine gold particle flecks are visible in the fluid with the naked eye. The serum is smooth and applies well to the skin. There is a slight slip that helps to spread it over the face. Once applied and massaged, it soaks into the skin without leaving any residue. It does not feel heavy on the skin. Massaging it onto the skin is soothing and comforts the skin. It literally melts into the skin. It is quite mesmerizing to see how the gold-infused in white liquid diffuses into the skin. The skin instantly lights up, more in the sense of radiance.

As mentioned, the diffusion system makes sure the benefits and results are immediate as well as long-term. With continuous use of this serum for over six weeks, I have noticed my skin to be smooth and even. I prefer using Pure Gold Radiance Concentrate at night nowadays as the summer is in full swing but before last week, I was using it twice a day. As it is nourishing, I always make sure to cleanse my skin nicely, use this serum, an eye cream, and then follow with a light moisturizer for now. I also enjoy using it when I have exfoliated my skin. I am enjoying the 3-minute Peel from the brand. It is very gentle for my skin. This routine has been working very well for me.

I plan to follow up with a normal or rich moisturizer during the winter. I have not noticed any breakouts or irritation. With a rich serum or moisturizer, I usually notice a few bumps here and there occasionally. But with La Prairie Pure Gold Radiance Concentrate, I have not noticed anything like that. I really enjoy how soothing it is and my skin is very comfortable. Overall, I am very impressed by everything about this serum. My skin is calm, radiant, even, and smooth. Skin is soft to touch and my problem areas like pigmentation appear diminished. So, it is a winner for me and I am looking forward to keeping it in my routine.

I love the duo Skin Caviar Eye Lift and Skin Caviar Luxe Eye Cream for eyes. My favourite Balm Cleanser that I use as a first cleanse is the La Prairie Supreme Balm Cleanser. It works so efficiently and is very gentle. My skin feels so comfortable and radiant just massaging with this balm and removing with a washcloth.
