Like dreams, fragrances can take us back to fond memories or places. The Sisley “dreamy waters” collection has a new scent, ‘L'Eau Rêvée d'Aria', and is bound to capture your imagination.

The Story Behind Aria

In this particular scent, the dream is mischievously spicy. The fragrance surrounds warm, daring notes transporting you to a swirling dream. Almost hypnotizing, this fragrance captures all of those that wear it. And remember, the “Dreamy Water” collection is unisex.

Aria's casing is designed by two artists, Elzbieta Radziwill, who painted the stunning boxes and Bronislaw Krzysztof, the sculptor of the bottle top that perfectly captures the dreamy waters image.

The Notes

Each dreamy water has its unique nature, and this fragrance is one of the warmest in the collection. Aria is made by perfectly balancing citrus and spicy notes.

The perfume opens with a vibrant burst of Bergamot, Mandarin, and Ginger notes that instantly awaken your senses. The citrus and spicy notes are incredibly fresh and energizing, giving you an instant mood boost. As the perfume continues to evolve, the heart of Osmanthus, Blackcurrant, and Nutmeg reveals itself. Addictively sweet and comforting, these notes circle you like a warm breeze. From here, the perfume becomes more sensual and mysterious as the Vanilla, Benjoin, and Patchouli notes give Aria an intense sense of power and femininity.

Although these fragrances are Eau de toilettes, Aria has a long-lasting scent that will get you compliments. Perfect for all occasions, its smell is not overpowering.

The Dreamy Water Collection

Sisley's selection of dreamy waters is inspired by the generations of imagination in the d'Ornano family. Our dreams significantly impact our lives and can inspire great creativity. My Review

After recently discovering the “dreamy water of Hubert” (review here), I could not resist the temptation. I have always been a lover of warmer, sweeter scents. So I had big hopes for this perfume. With multiple additions to the collection, I decided to give Aria's dreamy water a try.

The scent impressed me from the first moment I saw it. The bottle matches the entire collection except for its burnt orange design and ribbon. Revealing no secrets, Aria invites you into a spicy twist of gingery, nutty notes. If you love sweet, enveloping fragrances, you should give this fragrance a chance.

The eau de toilette is surprisingly intense and slowly becomes a sensual perfume. The notes of Patchouli are manageable and bring great length to the perfume. This perfume made me feel cozy and got me lots of compliments! I love this perfume and the whole concept behind the collection.

An ode to feminity

The French brand has recently released a new fragrance, “Valaya”. With its pure and radiant bottle, this perfume holds a fresh yet intense scent.

Valaya The Fragrance

The perfume gives off a shining aura from the moment you lay your eyes on it. This brand-new fragrance brings an intimate sensation and a breath of fresh air to all that wear it. Inspired by the petticoat ladies used to wear under their garments during the 18th century, Valaya combines both periods: past and present. The highly fresh scent reminds me of fresh linen.

Made in France, the perfume is the perfect representation of contrasts. Delicate yet powerful, its scent represents all of the feminine qualities. Behind this glorious perfume are two talented noses Julien Sprecher and the French perfumer Quentin Bisch.

The Notes

Below are the notes of Parfums de Marly Valaya:

• Top Notes – The perfume opens up with a burst of citrussy juice: Bergamot, Mandarin, and White Peach.
• Heart Notes – Warming the heart of the fragrance are Orange Flowers, Nympheal, and Vetiver.
• Base Notes – The sensual touch to the perfume comes from the three base notes: Akigalawood, Ambrofix, and Musk.

The unbeatable duo: Mandarin and Ambrofix.

The perfume is built up around these two particular notes. This should be right up your street if you love citrussy scents.

MANDARIN

Known as one of the most comforting notes, the Mandarin used in this perfume is cultivated in Italy. The brand uses both peel and pulp to obtain the note. By doing so, the fruit delivers a juicy facet that is naturally produced.

AMBROFIX

This ingredient is at the heart of the sensual touch the perfume has. Obtained from 100% natural sugarcane, the amber molecule, when in contact with the skin, adds a warm feeling to Valaya.

My Experience

I am familiar with Parfums de Marly fragrances, so I expected high quality and special notes in the new perfume. I am happy that they opted for a fresher scent in their latest collection, and Valaya screams out feminity at its best. The aroma is beautiful and can be worn easily throughout the day. With its citrus notes at the opening, the fragrance evolves and becomes a more intimate and cozy perfume. Ideal for those who don't like overpowering scents, Valaya is the perfect balance between freshness and sensuality. I would class Valaya as medium longevity, meaning that I could still smell it on an evening but very faintly. It makes a beautiful day-to-day fragrance and instantly lifts my mood when wearing it. I also think that Valaya is suitable for different age groups, and the scent reminds me of freshly washed clothes.

If you have yet to discover the scent, it is worth it. Parfums de Marly selects the highest quality actives when creating their scent. The French perfumer Quentin Bisch is behind some fantastic scents such as “Girls can do anything” from Zadig & Voltaire and multiple Chloe Fragrances. Valaya definitely has his touch.
