Sisley released 2 fragrances in the “Izia” range, the first being a solar, floral interpretation. Today I share with you my discovery of its shadowed twin.

Izia la Nuit, Eau De Parfum.

“La Nuit” meaning the night in French explains the choice of colours for the bottle's design. Dressed in a shiny black glass with luxurious gold circular patterns, this perfume is giving off elegant, audacious vibes.

What's Inside?

Sisley Izia La Nuit perfume has a touch of mystery with its black glossy coat. Classed in the woody, floral category, its notes dance around the Queen Izia rose. From the very first time, I discovered this fragrance I was hooked.

Key Notes

Top notes: Blackcurrant, Mandarin, Cardamom.

The fragrance starts with an energetic, fruity cocktail. Sweet, fresh and spicy. The top notes are balanced.

Middle notes: Ornano Rose, Freesia, Magnolia

After the vibrant notes come to an elegant, powdered bouquet. Creamy, fresh and green. These middle notes are the heart of the fragrance, giving Izia its uniqueness.

Base notes: Ambrox, Patchouli, Vanilla.

Here is where the perfume gets a darker, more intense touch. Mixing musky, sweet and warm notes gives you a long-lasting, close-to-the-skin fragrance.

Points To Consider

I noted a few points that I feel important to share with you all:

1. The eternal battle between price and quantity.

Izia la Nuit exists in 3 different formats:

-Small/ travel: 30ml

-Medium: 50ml

-Large: 100ml

The price reaches a little higher than the original Izia EDP. With a price like this, you want to be sure to wear it. That's why I advise you to test before buying any perfume.

2. Price but nice.

Of course, the high price is justified by the quality and precision this fragrance offers. I consider it to have an excellent, long-lasting scent. When applied to clothes it has a different finish. Try both to get your perfect sillage.

3. Leave your trace.

One of the points I adored about this perfume is the sillage it leaves. I had so many compliments from my friends and family. With Izia la Nuit, people are sure to be curious about who is wearing this invisible beauty.

The Fragrance

As you will have guessed Izia EDP from Sisley is a warm floral perfume. Concentrated with a bouquet of different flowers, inside you will find:

White Bergamot, Rose d’Ornano accord (Peer), Jasmine, Peony and Lily of the valley.

Like any rose, Izia has her thorns. To complement the floral notes and add character Sisley added a warmer touch.

This is where the cedar, amber and musk become a force. Complimenting the floral notes the perfume finds a warmer, deeper personality without overpowering the one and only Rose d’Ornano.

Sisley Paris Izia perfume has a long-lasting scent thanks to its concentrated composition. It is said that EDP (Eau de parfum) last up to 4 hours longer than an EDT ( Eau De toilette).

Tips And Tricks

To prolong your sillage there are many different tips, here are our top 3 favourites:

When vaporizing the perfume, aim for the warmer spots on your body such as the top of the neck, and the chest. If you feel like your perfume is losing its scent too fast, apply the perfume onto your clothes.
Spray your hairbrush with the perfume before brushing your hair.
Add a couple of sprays to your body lotion. Make sure that your body lotion and the perfume will match. Prefer fresher and more neutral ones.

This fragrance is inspired by ‘a stroll through the gardens of Alcazar in Seville’. This Spanish location is renowned for its beautiful smell, particularly at dusk, when the resident Syringa flowers give off their fragrance. I have to say, when I smell this, I am instantly transported to a Mediterranean vineyard surrounded by lemon trees.

This fragrance has several notes that make it the perfect summer scent. It has a strong citrus base, lightly dusted with delicate floral notes for good measure. The top notes – mandarin, grapefruit and pepper – make themselves known almost instantly. Once the fragrance has dried down on the skin, the floral notes start to take shape. Mainly rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang and iris.

The base notes of the perfume are musk, amber, patchouli and oakmoss – these all add an edge of sophistication and boldness to the scent.

The scent lasts all day and night. I last wore it while on vacation, and always sprayed it first thing in the morning before hitting the beach. I could still smell it through to the early hours of the following morning, even after a big night out! It’s one of those smells that lingers on clothes, too – even after washing them. Sometimes, I’ll put a jumper on that I have worn previously while wearing this scent, and get a gorgeous nostalgic reminder of my vacation.

When To Wear Sisley Eau Du Soir

Make no mistake – I’m not saying there are any rules to perfume! However, this is definitely a fragrance I would stick to for summer. I’m picky with my scents and like to tailor the ones that I’m wearing to specific occasions. For me, this would be one of the first scents I’d pack in my suitcase for vacation, and if I had any summer weddings to attend – it’d be my first choice.

The bottle of this perfume is also incredible. At first, it reminded me a bit of an Oscar award! It’s got a golden face silhouette as its cap, and a beautiful four-dimensional glass bottle. So, not only am I in love with this scent – I adore the way it looks on my dresser, too!
