A fragrance is something that you sniff and it makes you feel something, remember a memory or create a new memory. It should be a pleasure that surrounds you and brings out that part hidden part of you. Dior J'adore In Joy (CAD $165/100ml and CAD $119/50ml) is described as a perfume that smells of joy, like a new call for life. Who would not want that joy and to give a sniff to that joy which is beautiful and powerful like a life force. I was sent this fragrance as part of the press package and here I go with some details about the notes and the creativity put into this.
The Dior Perfumer-Creator, Francois Demachy, dives into the floral nature of J'adore, adorning it with the audacious charm of a new floral-fruity-salty accord. This new creation is a salty gourmandize that is both original and surprising. He says about this fragrance ‘With J'adore In Joy, I created an original fruity-salty accord to make white flowers shine. This “Fleur de Sel” is modern in style and literally “smells” of joy.'
The top note of Dior J'adore In Joy is the finest gourmet sea salt. The middle notes are Jasmine Sambac, Neroli, Tuberose, and Ylang-Ylang (Ylang-Ylang is from Madagascar, custom crafted in Grasse, in a transformation that enables the salty facet of this surprising flower to shine forth). The base note is Peach. From the notes, this fragrance has a touch of salt to the warm floral composition. It is a nice summer fragrance. For me, it smells more like a clean fresh floral fragrance with vibes of saltiness. The freshness comes from the nice mixture of jasmine and ylang-ylang, nothing like citrusy. The fresh and floral salt note runs down into the honeyed fullness of the juicy, fruity peach. It lasted on my skin for around 5-6 hours. The packaging is in a beautiful peachy gold glass bottle that has a convex bottom which diffuses light.
This fragrance is available at Sephora, The Hudsons Bay, HOlt Renfrew, Nordstrom, Shoppers Drug Mart and respective retailer .com site and is available in 50ml and 100ml.
