Lust In Paradise is my first fragrance from the house of Ex Nihilo. Ex Nihilo is a Parisian fragrance house founded in 2013 by a young trio from Paris. The founders are Sylvie Loday, Olivier Royere, and Benoit Verdier. The aim was to create an alternative to the stereotyped luxury products and also an alternative to mass personalization. The inspiration behind this is the creative Avante-Garde and French zeal for pure refinement. As a result, Ex Nihilo has created the conception of personalized luxury by expressing it in the form that is the purest as well as most splendid in the world of perfumery. That means, there are no boundaries to creativity and exploration of new territories. Ex Nihilo is a Latin expression applied to a new creation with no previously known reference.
Notes
Ex Nihilo Lust In Paradise is a floral musk fragrance, which means floral and slightly musky, the perfect balance. The nose behind the scent is Louise Turner. The packaging of the fragrance is elegant and luxurious. Below are the notes of the fragrance:
- Top Notes – Pink Pepper
- Middle Notes – White Peony, Lychee
- Base Notes – White Cedarwood, Musk, Amber
Lust In Paradise truly embodies a dreamlike and sensual French Riviera. The bright white peony amalgamates with the pink pepper in a very unique and captivating nature. Also, the lychee brings in a tinge of freshness and shine that is truly splendid. Lastly, the base notes of white cedarwood and musk bring in dryness and depth. The pink pepper gives the first kick in the opening, not spicy at all. The sweet flowery, ambery notes after the pink pepper dissipates are creamy lychee and musk. Peony, for me, stays in the background while still being noticeable. The cedarwood is truly smooth and gorgeous.
I have fallen in love with this fragrance since the first spritz. More than lust, it is innocent and fun. The fragrance is pleasant, elegant, and uplifts the mood. The creamy lychee and musk are totally enjoyable. It is an easy-to-wear scent that is unique and versatile. Every time I wear it, I get many compliments. And there comes the longevity too, I can smell it on my skin for a very long time, around 10+ hours. And on clothes, even more, until I wash the clothes. It is one of the perfect floral musk scents I have tried.
Ex Nihilo Lust In Paradise is airy, juicy fruity- floral, musky, and totally summer-like. The fragrance is feminine and sensual. As I mentioned it is airy and light-headed, so I never had a headache or any feeling of it being overly strong. Overall, it truly is my new favorite scent for summer. I am impressed with my first fragrance from the house.
