Ulili Moroccan Scents – a brand new to me, a brand that came out of love of the natural and historical heritage of Morocco, a brand with a rich history and creative look that gives a touch of elegance and uniqueness. The first thing that excited me to check the brand out was the very unique scents and overall packaging, anything that is related to a culture, a heritage, or feelings – I am all in. Ulili was named after the fertile land in Morocco which had a small tree that adorned the plain with gorgeous pink and white roses. The brand was founded as a result of a meeting between perfumer Marianne Nawrocki and Omar Benjelloun, a lover of Moroccan culture. Marianne Nawrocki is the nose behind all the fragrances of the brand. I have the Candle Tazarine and Diffuser in Oum Rabie on rotation and happy to share my thoughts here.
Ulili Moroccan Scents Candle Tazarine is a very fresh, elegant floral scent. Tazarine means fig tree in the Berber language. It evokes a summer breeze covered by fragrances of a fig tree and a field of ripe wheat, ready for harvest. The notes of the scent are Top (Fig tree), Medium (Ylang ylang, Tuberose), Base (sandalwood, Musk).
The Candles are made with natural vegetable and beeswax harvested from the foothills of the Anti Atlas Mountains in southern Morocco and are designed to continuously fill any space with the scents of the region while reminding of it's rich and sensual heritage. The wicks of the candle are lead-free and made of natural cotton.
The screen-printed characters are inspired by characters of the traditional Spanish card game. Each piece of the ceramic candle undergoes several oven firings and hand manipulations for the lacquering and screenprinting. The crackles on the chalices are obtained by a Japanese technique ‘Roku' used in pottery. I have the candle in medium size and it's burn time is around 25 hours.
Ulili Moroccan Scents Diffuser Oum Rabie is a scent inspired by a walk through the blooming orange trees at the mouth of the Oum Rabie. Oum Rabie is the name of a long river in Morocco. The name means Mother of Spring. The formulation of citrus, aromatic notes, and fresh spices is inspired by the first rays of spring sunshine. The notes of the scent are Top (Basil, Green Mandarin, Petit grain), Middle (Neroli, Cardamom, Bay Leaves), and Base (Orange Blossom).
Ulili's perfumes are formulated with natural molecules and the highest quality essential oils and ingredients. This diffuser is curated and handcrafted by hand in the brand's workshop in Morocco. The packaging of the diffuser includes the diffuser, 5 black reed sticks and a 100ml refill which has a diffusing time of over 6 weeks.
I am really impressed by how beautiful and unique the scents are, and how the authenticity of the brand is visible from just the look. Ulili Moroccan Scents are available at ShopKalosophie.com.
