When summer comes around, I often find that foundation and powders can be too heavy on my skin. Instead, I’ll usually opt for a tinted moisturizer – something lightweight that’ll give my skin a sunkissed glow. It’s also really important to me that I maintain my SPF use in the summer, as it’s crucial for protecting skin against harmful UVA/UVB rays. Here are my favourites…
1. Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF30
This tinted moisturizer is an oil-free formula, which makes it great for naturally oily skin. It gives light coverage but still manages to cover up issues like dark spots and hyperpigmentation. It’s packed with botanicals which help skin’s hydration levels, as well as mineral-rich seawater to make skin feel smooth and soft.
2. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector Broad Spectrum SPF30
For a dewy look, this one is my favourite. It’s the perfect balance of makeup and skincare, so it improves skin’s appearance over time and adds an instant hit of glow. Brimming with ingredients such as Macadamia and Kukui Seed oils and Tamarind seed extract, it offers fantastic antioxidant protection. It also has a high SPF30, which is strong enough to shield skin effectively. This is my most used and truly one of the best-tinted moisturizers.
3. Clé de Peau Beauté UV Protective Cream Tinted SPF50
On the more luxurious end of the tinted moisturizer spectrum is the Clé de Peau Beauté UV Protective Cream Tinted SPF50. It’s great for the skin as it contains a high percentage of Hyaluronic Acid to keep moisture levels high. There are also Vitamins C and E on the ingredients list, which defend against free radicals and environmental aggressors.
4. Coola Rosilliance SPF Tinted Moisturizer
This tinted moisturizer is more of a BB cream, which aims to perfect skin. It provides a barely-there feel and sheer but buildable coverage. You’ll also find rose stem cells on the ingredients list, which smooths, moisturizes and replenishes skin.
5. Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturizer
This product is one of the beauty world’s best-selling products for a reason! It gives a smooth, velvety finish and manages to blur over any imperfections for a flawless look. It also leaves skin feeling very hydrated and soft, which is exactly what I want from a moisturizer. Also, it means that I don’t have to worry too much about applying serums and moisturizers to this product. Truly, it is one of the best-tinted moisturizers.
6. bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer SPF30
With a gel texture, this product feels cooling and nourishing on the skin. The formula is 98% naturally-derived, meaning there are no nasties, and the cream contains microcapsules that burst on contact with the skin, allowing the colour to adapt to the natural skin tone.

For the most lightweight of tinted moisturizers, this is my favourite. It has a ‘hydra-fluid’ texture, which feels completely weightless on the skin, despite being a medium, buildable coverage product. This formula is perfect for those who have imperfections that they want to cover up but don’t want to use a product that feels heavy.
