Since I started taking my love for everything beauty seriously, the most important thing I have noticed for a product to be a hit is the packaging, same like when you see a person, you get a vibe by looking at that person which makes your thoughts or impressions even before talking or knowing the person. Same is in beauty, the product which appeals to your eyes, you check and try that product which starts the reaction which includes your liking or disliking something. When it comes to Burberry, you can rely on the brand name, whether it is the packaging or the product.
I bought the Burberry First Love Palette Blush Highlighter and Burberry Face Silk and Bloom Blush Palette last month to add them to my every growing collection of luxury beauty.
Burberry First Love (CAD $72 excl taxes) is described as a combined blush and highlighter palette for a fresh and luminous rosy-cheek effect. It is inspired by the playful prints and fabrics from our womenswear collections, the limited-edition blush is set within a bold heart-print design fusing bright, matte pink shades with a softer pastel hue. Illuminating pearls are infused in the silky smooth formula to add subtle highlights to cheeks. Easy to blend and build, the two shades can be applied together for a customizable finish.
This is a very pretty pink blush, I know it is difficult to use two shades separately due to the size of the little hearts with darker shade but if you are able to swipe across with a smaller brush, you will love it. The highlighter shade is really pretty too, it does show up nicely on my skin.
Top is the darker shade in the little hearts, middle is the outer shade and bottom is the blended shade of two
When the brush is swirled in both the shades, it comes out as a nice pink glowy shade which works both as a blush and a highlighter. As usual, my first concern is the product to show up on my medium tan skin tone, which it does beautifully. The staying time is nice for over 6-7 hours on my cheeks. The texture is soft and very silky, which makes the blending easy.
Silk and Bloom Blush Palette (CAD $72 excl taxes) is described as an illuminating face powder, for a soft glow with a hint of color. Taking inspiration from runway designs and fabrics, the palette is set within a geometric print pattern referencing antique wallpaper sourced from London’s Victoria and Albert Museum. Combining subtle rosy color and illuminating pearls, the soft-as-silk powder creates a glowing, flushed effect on cheeks. The lightweight and easily blendable powder formula can be layered for custom intensity, with a non-chalky finish.
This palette can be used as a blush or as a highlighter for a soft glow. The shade is medium mauve, very similar but different from pink. The staying power of this blush palette is 7-8 hours and it is very soft in texture which makes it very easily blendable and it is easily buildable too. This blush does have a shimmer and shine, like a noticeable sheen which did not emphasize pores or skin's natural texture but gives a radiant finish.

Overall, I am in love with the packaging and the product in these two palettes. Both are beautiful shades of pink. As they are very much buildable, they would work on all the skin tones giving a radiant, glowy pink finish which does stay on for a quite long time.
These both are limited edition. Silk and Bloom Blush Palette is available at The Bay and Burberry First Love is available at Sephora and Burberry Canada.
