Sisley Paris Phyto-Teint Primer: Matte or Glow — Why Not Both?

Sisley Paris Phyto-Teint Primer: Matte or Glow — Why Not Both?

If you're someone who switches up your makeup finish depending on the day, you’ll love what Sisley Paris did with their Phyto-Teint Primer. They’ve released two versions — Matte and Glow — so you can pick the perfect base depending on your skin mood and the look you’re going for.

Phyto-Teint Primer Matte: Soft Focus, No Shine

Sisley Paris Phyto-Teint Primer: Matte Review

The Matte primer is a lightweight gel designed to give you a “second skin” feel. Sisley describes it as a refreshing, quick-absorbing base that leaves a non-greasy finish and visibly tighter pores.

What sets it apart is the Ideal Skin Complex — a botanical blend with cucumber extract, green lentil, buckwheat seed, peach blossom, lady’s mantle, and tiger nut. These work together to blur imperfections, refine texture, and support better skin quality over time. With regular use, skin feels smoother and pores appear less visible.

I like using this in the morning before foundation: a thin layer on my T-zone, maybe a dab on my cheeks, and suddenly my makeup stays put all day. It’s also great for touch-ups — just a little on areas that tend to get shiny.

Phyto-Teint Primer Glow: Radiance That Feels Natural

Sisley Paris Phyto-Teint Primer Glow Review

The Glow version leans into luminosity. It has an iridescent, peach-toned cream texture that melts into skin, instantly scattering light for a radiant, soft-focus finish. As you blend, the peach tone disappears, leaving just a subtle glow. Imperfections are gently blurred, and your complexion feels smoother.

Like its matte sibling, Glow uses Sisley’s Ideal Skin Complex — but this version also includes kale extract, which helps boost radiance over time. Use it alone for a sheer, glowing effect, or layer it under foundation to make your base last longer without pilling.

Verdict: Which One Should You Choose?

Honestly? I reach for both — depending on my mood. On days when I want a polished, matte look (especially in warm or humid weather), the Matte primer is my go-to. On days when I want that soft, healthy glow, the Glow primer feels like skin but better.

Sisley nailed this dual-approach: both primers feel like skincare but perform like makeup tools. If you're looking for a pampering base that actually improves skin texture over time, these are winners.

I have been loving the Eau Efficace from the brand, which works so well for my skin even when it is behaving and is sensitive (review here). Sisley Soir de Lune is my go-to fragrance these days; not sure why it took me so long to try this scent. Check my review here. I have experience that an Advent calendar is one of the best ways to try out the brand's products. Check out my review of this year's one here.
