My Review

I adore using the Abeille Royale collection, so I had to try it when I heard about the NEW day and night duo! The honey treatment day cream stays true to the Royal Bee collection. Infused with honey-related actives, the texture glides onto the skin, leaving a silky smooth finish. I loved using this cream as I got an instant sensation of comfort and rapidly saw improvements in my fine lines. 

The cream is light on the skin and is perfect for under makeup. I recommend the day cream for those wishing to prevent and correct fine lines and wrinkles. My Review

The Double R eye serum is a delight to use. I love how silky it is and how quickly it penetrates the skin. The serum is ideal for preserving or regaining a youthful gaze and can be paired with the facial serum for global anti-ageing action. Using an eye serum helped me prevent fine lines and wrinkles from appearing. Furthermore, over time my skin felt softer and much more comfortable.

I recommend it to men or women over 30 as most of its actions are anti-ageing. It also works well on the lashes if you want to strengthen or preserve them. Als,o you can apply the serum day and night before your makeup for a smooth base. I love using it with the Double R Serum (review here) for the face and neck.

The Original Aqua Allegoria Range

The Aqua Allegoria collection is now made up of 14 delicious scents. The original fragrances were created to share and discover the world's wonders. Concentrated as “Eau de toilette”, Guerlain used raw ingredients and notes to sculpt fresh, aromatic perfumes. You can choose from three olfactive families in this collection: floral, citrus and fruity.

Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic EDT

This fragrance is all about the juiciness of mandarin flesh. With a tangy touch, the perfume combines with fresh basil. Guerlain added green tea and smooth woody notes to balance out the vibrant notes.

Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic Forte EDP

Guerlain created a woody, fruity, citrus combination in the revisited Mandarine Basilic fragrance. With the warmer seasons fading away, what better to keep you feeling invigorated? The scent keeps its star ingredient, Mandarine. But in this version, it is sun-drenched.

The notes: Golden mandarin, basil, Sandalwood and vanilla.

Like in the original collection, the perfumes are more than 90% natural. Guerlain uses French beetroot oil as a base in these fragrances.

The fragrance comes in a beautiful glass bottle. The Aqua Allegoria forte range has rechargeable bottles that you can use endlessly. The 200ml refill can be used in both the 75ml and 125ml formats.

So what is the difference between the EDT and the EDP?

The EDT gives Fresh, aquatic notes that are lifted with a very green basilic note. It is the perfect perfume for those who like a gentle scent. It also works great in summer when you want to feel refreshed.

The EDP keeps these same notes but has a more enveloping, tangy feeling. Combining Sandalwood and vanilla, Guerlains perfume has a much warmer scent. Along with this comes a higher intensity. This is great for those who like to leave an aromatic trail behind them.

My Review

I love the Aqua Allegoria collection, but I always thought that the EDT needed to be lighter for my liking. Also, I tried the perfume over a couple of days, and I love it. The scent stays and evolves throughout the day, taking a sweeter approach to the Mandarine. This perfume instantly boosts my mood when I wear it. It is my favourite morning step before heading out to work and makes me feel confident all day long. This collection's sizes are always generous, but a travel format would be great. That said, I would 100% recommend this to all previous Aqua Allegoria lovers and look forward to discovering the other fragrances.

Violette, Guerlain's Makeup Creative Director, created THE Fall look to have this year: The “signature mystic peacock” look. To recreate her stunning blue-eyed glam, I selected three products.

Ombres G Eyeshadow Quad shade No.360 – Mystic Peacock

This eyeshadow quad is one of the six palette options Guerlain released. This collection has three “star shades” (n.360, n.555, n.530 ). Today we will focus mainly on n.360 and the beautiful, deep shades of blue, brown and copper captured inside its case. Thus, this eyeshadow quad represents the nuances and shades of a peacock's feathers.

Using a remarkably smooth formula enriched in Rose oil, the shades glide and blend onto the lids without any effort. With a highly pigmented formula, the eyeshadows deliver bursts of colour. Guerlain also decided to play with finishes, including a satin, a matte, a metallic and a pearl shade. Also, the palette is complete with two applicators: one mousse-like and the other slimmer for sharp lines.

Noir G Mascara

To add contrast to your eyes, Guerlain released the Noir G mascara. Offering a 24h volume and curl effect to the lashes. It does finish off your look. Also hidden inside its black formula are midnight blue and ebony pigments. This gives the mascara an even darker appearance on the lash. Flutter your lashes like a butterfly with significant volume. The brush applicator is curved, allowing you to get close to the root of your lashes as well as have a lifting effect on the lashes.

Rouge G 530 Majestic Rose lipstick with Nymph Rose case

The Nymph Rose case is inspired by the Wood Nymph butterfly and is part of the Luxurious Velvet Metal Collection.

To finish the look, you will need the Rouge G No.530. Known for their luxurious appearance, these lipsticks are vibrant and come in 6 butterfly shades. The lipsticks have a rich combination of pigments offering a velvety, metallic matte look. I know it sounds impossible, right? Guerlain didn't stop there. Moreover, the lipsticks provide a good six hours of wear. Star of the collection, the Rouge G cases are elegantly decorated with metallic patterns inspired by the reflections found on butterfly wings.

My Review

I was super excited to try out the super bright shades. I have to say that Guerlain always chooses the right textures and finishes to complement each part of the face. Also, I adored the Ombre G quad, with its super easy application ( by finger). The colours were easy to blend, and wow, the colour was popping! Violette's look is perfectly balanced, bringing a slight tint to the lips with no.530. The lipstick felt comfortable; more importantly, it didn't move throughout my day. The mascara was also lovely but better suited to a longer lash. It was easy to apply but also very simple to remove. I love the Fall collection and am glad to see its stepped away from the traditional autumn tones.

For the base, I am currently loving the new Parure Gold Skin Matte Foundation very much. The finish is natural and radiant but not shiny.

Guerlain Parure Gold Skin Matte Foundation

Regarding combining skincare and makeup, Guerlain is the best.

• Re-appearing numbers: I don't know if the number is magic, but this foundation keeps improving. With a hint of pure 24-karat gold, it offers 24-hour hold, 24h hydration, and, you guessed it, 24 hours of comfort, which is something matte foundations lack.
• Results: The finished look should leave you with an even skin tone and a redefined complexion. The foundation's newest formula also has an impressive no-transfer complex, helping you look your best for longer.
• Texture: Available in 18 shades ranging from the fairest to the darkest, the creamy textures melt into the skin. Easy to blend out, the foundation forms a thin but high coverage on the skin. This is a must for a natural finish.

What's Inside?

Alongside the hint of 24 karat gold is the potent and elegantly fragranced peony flower. Used from head to toe in the formula, Guerlain didn't waste one drop:

• White peony petal extract: Help strengthen the skin barrier, hydrating.
• Root extract: Even out the skin texture and add radiance.

The Bottle

Guerlain has also made some pretty good improvements on the bottle itself. With a more considerate approach to the universe, the brand produced recycled bottles. You can now 100% recycle your bottle once having removed your reusable screw pump. It looks great, but you are getting a little more inside. The original bottles were 30ml and have risen to 35ml.

My Review

I am excited that Guerlain released a contemporary take on a favourite of mine. Parure gold was THE foundation to have back in the day. Although the trend has recently been the fresh, glowy skin look, Guerlain released a matte finish. Maybe they are ahead of the game…

I tried the foundations for a few days to get the best feedback possible.

• Application: The foundation's texture is dreamy. Not only does it blend out quickly, but it also leaves a natural result. Using the Parure Gold Skin Foundation Brush, one pump of the foundation was enough for my whole face. But you can, if wanted, apply it with your fingers for less coverage.
• Finish: I applied the foundation after my regular hydrating cream and was not disappointed. Rapidly setting into place, I could feel my skin loving the formula. Hydrating and long-lasting, the parure gold offers the skin a fresh, smooth finish. Ideal for all ages, the product didn't move throughout the day.
• No transfer: I have never had a foundation that stays in place so well. I didn't notice any cracks, smudges or patches throughout the day. I fixed it with a loose powder, but alone it would have been enough.
