What I Noticed

La Mer The Treatment Lotion is a staple in my skincare routine. My skin looked plumper from day 1 of using this lotion. After using it for over a month now, I am excited to share that my skin looks and feels healthier and more comfortable. It looks youthful and it had a glow. My skin is smoother, radiant, and refreshed. I do not notice the fine lines I had a few weeks ago around my forehead and chin.

How to use your lotion

Important Apply to clean and natural skin.

Start by applying some drops onto a cotton pad or your fingertips. We use more tapping with this lotion to apply it to the face. In addition, make sure to cover all of the faces except the eyes. You can follow the lotion with a skin serum and eye contour cream. Also, when storing your bottle make sure to leave it out of direct sunlight and drastic temperature changes.

I complete my routine with either the Hydrating Infused Emulsion or The Moisturizing Soft Cream.

My Review

Hydrating Infused Emulsion is super-hydrating and has a featherlight formula. The light milky texture glides easily on the skin. It feels so delicate and literally melts into the skin to give the signature La Mer glow. The emulsion feels weightless and yet it is very hydrating. I find it absorbs quickly into the skin and there is no residue. I have noticed my skin is very supple, fresh, and radiant. The best thing is the instant glow and the hydration I feel and see on my skin. It calms and soothes the skin in a way that I feel a sense of healing on the skin, even when my skin is irritated.

I cleanse my skin, prepare the skin with treatment lotion and then apply my serum. The next step is to apply 2 pumps of Hydrating Infused Emulsion. It is designed as a pre-moisturizer step in the skincare routine. For my combination skin, I stop at this step most of the time but other times I follow up with The Moisturizing Soft Cream. It has become an essential part of my skincare ritual with La Mer. What I mean to say is that it is very hydrating on its own. I have not noticed any congestion or shine coming through. But only a beautiful radiance and supple skin. My skin is soft, comfortable, and hydrated for the whole day.

In regards to makeup, I love La Mer Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation and Concealer. It is one of my favourite foundations.

La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream has the same key ingredients as the original one:

• Miracle Broth – It is crafted with a blend of sea kelp, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients. This is a result of a 3-4 month fermentation process as well as exposure to light and sound energies. I was reading about how the light and sound energies made the difference in what they created from the fermentation process. It is very interesting to try and understand the dynamics and how the results can differ with implementing some physics principles during the process.
• Lime Tea – It is very high in anti-oxidants. It neutralizes the free radicals to help protect skin from environmental stress and pollution. It takes six weeks to brew.
• Moisturizing Spheres – They help deliver moisture to the skin. The Miracle Broth and Lime Tea are encapsulated within the layers of moisturizing spheres.

My Thoughts

La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream is a very lightweight and bouncy moisturizer. I have not tried the original moisturizer, so I can not compare how it is different. But from what I have learned by reading and using a sample of the original, the original is a thicker cream and ideal for dry to very dry skin types. La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream is very smooth and blends easily into the skin. When I take a pea-size amount on my fingertips, the creamy softens and melts with the warmth of the fingers. The consistency of this cream is not thick nor thin. It has the right consistency to apply well. The way it melts into the skin is so amazing. Once applied, it instantly soothes the skin while imparting a healthy radiance to the skin.

La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream feels light and airy on the skin. It did not clog my pores or caused me any breakouts. I have combination skin, for your reference. It keeps my skin moisturized longer than usual. It does not feel oily or heavy on the skin. There is no residue. I love massaging it for a few seconds on some days and other days, I just quickly apply it. Apart from being soothing and moisturizing, it makes the skin supple and radiant. The fine lines and problem areas look blurred and diminished, thanks to the key ingredients including moisturizing spheres.

It works well for both morning and evening. In the mornings, I follow with sunscreen. It stays well under the makeup too. Overall, a really nice cream that targets the key concerns as well as improves overall skin health.

For the base makeup, I do love La Mer Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation and Concealer. It is one of my favorite foundations.

Skincare

For skincare, I am very choosy in my cleansers and have been wanting to try something specifically for my congestion and hormonal acne that flares up few times in a month and leaves those marks for many more months to come. I have used Kate Somerville Exfolikate cleanser and now bought the Kate Somerville Eradikate Cleanser along with the Kate Somerville Eradikate Solution. I opened these both products last week the same day I got it, I have been using them every day and like them both. I will review them in detail in my upcoming posts. Another cleanser I was eyeing since last few months was from La Mer, I bought the La Mer Cleansing Foam for the summers and I have high hopes for it. Perricone Md Nutritive cleanser is a repurchase, I really like it, never dries me out but makes my skin clean and fresh. Another product from Perricone Md I bought is the Perricone Md Chloro Plasma, it is everything you need for detoxifying, cleansing, anti-aging, and what not. I will keep you guys posted on how I like it. Tatcha Lip balm was also on the wishlist for a long time, finally splurged.

Bodycare

For Bodycare, there are mostly the repurchases. Loccitane has been my go-to brand for the body products for many years. I purchased my backups for Loccitane Shower Oil with Almond Oil, Loccitane Lavender Shower Gel, Verbena Body Lotion, Loccitane foot cream for dry skin, Loccitane hand cream for dry feet. Kopari coconut melt is a favorite of mine, for myself and also for my kids, it is so gentle and so hydrating. Fresh Brown Sugar Body polish is a repurchase for the coming season, I need all the exfoliation and glowing skin for the spring and summer dresses.

Haircare

For haircare, I have loved the Drybar The Chaser Shine Cream I purchased last year during the Sephora sale. I wanted to try more from the brand, so got this Drybar Hot Toddy heat and UV protectant for hair. Olaplex has been on all social media and magazines, I had to buy this one, as my hair needs some extra care as they are dull, damaged, falling and I am getting aged obviously. Bumble and Bumble tonic lotion have been in my stash since some time, wanted to buy the invisible oil but I suspect it would be heavy for my medium hair, so got this Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible OilHeatt/UV protecting primer.

Makeup

For makeup, I really controlled myself into not overspending as there are many products which I am testing and some which I purchased during the last sale and didn't get a chance to use. I got my backup of the Tatcha Luminous dewy mist, Tatcha blotting papers, Beauty Blender. Bobbi Brown foundation stick is a cult favorite, so I wanted to try it since last year. Marc Jacobs Omega Bronzer I bought last year but I gifted it to a friend, so got one for myself now. I have not tried anything from Agave yet, so got the lip kit which has deluxe sizes of lip balm, lip scrub to try out the brand.

Two more things I bought are from Surratt Beauty which I am most excited for, the brushes. I did not click the picture as I opened them last week and they were in my brush case. I will click the pictures and post on my Instagram in this week. I will keep you guys posted on the products which I have not reviewed on the blog before, whether they are repurchases or first time buys.

La Mer The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF20

The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF20 is described as a weightless foundation with luxurious long-wear texture. The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF 20 seamlessly blends soft color, healing hydration, and Miracle Broth. Pores look refined. Imperfections virtually disappear. SPF and antioxidants help protect a newly flawless complexion. New color capsule technology helps color stay true – even in humidity.

The foundation has a beautiful texture, creamy, and very easy to blend. It seamlessly blends into the skin like a second skin. The pigmentation is good enough to give medium to full coverage. It smoothens out the pores and evens out the skin. After using it regularly, I do feel it benefits my skin like my skin is radiant, hydrated, and healthy. It does not accentuate my dry area on the combination skin. The staying power is really good, it stays flawless for over 8 to 10 hours as experienced by me. Also, I do want to mention that the foundation does have fragrance, it does smell like the formulation or the SPF, definitely not like the separate fragrance added to products. The good thing is it does not linger around for long, fades away pretty quickly.

The SPF is an added plus as I tend to skip my sunscreen in winters when I use this foundation. The foundation does not oxidize and stays true to the color all day. The packaging of the foundation is in the luxurious frosted heavyweight glass bottle with a pump. One and a half pump is enough to cover my face and to build upon the problem areas and evening out on the neck. The finish is satiny and looks very natural on the skin. Above all, it does not look cakey or rolls off during the day., It works great with or without primer and can be applied using fingers, brush, or beauty blender. This foundation is available in 15 shades.

La Mer The Concealer

The Concealer is described as an ultra-creamy concealer, with the potent miracle broth, that melts into the skin with a veil of weightless coverage, youth-boosting benefits, and antioxidants. Imperfections appear blended away as the skin is treated and looks transformed. This treatment-powered concealer hugs contours, for long-wearing, buildable coverage.

Upper – The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF20 in Tan, Lower –  The Concealer in Medium

The concealer comes in a stick shape. It is very easy to apply, either straight from the bullet or with a brush or finger. The texture is thick and creamy, blending does take effort. Being thick, the concealer does not feel heavy on the skin but it dries pretty quickly, so it needs to be blended fast. I have used it on my imperfections to cover up the spots and pigmentation. The concealer is available in 4 shades. It has very good coverage. It does not settle into the lines or problem areas. The finish is satin-like and looks natural on the skin. It does not looks cakey or fades during the day, stays well all day for over 8 hours.

Overall, I am really impressed by the foundation and concealer. I would highly recommend the foundation if you are looking for a naturally flawless luminous look that looks like a second skin, it is a must-have.

I also love La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream, it is the perfect base for a foundation.
