The formula is non-sticky (hallelujah!) and glides on like silk. The finish is glossy without looking overdone — think fresh, juicy, and effortlessly polished. Plus, it has that signature YSL click applicator and sleek, gold-capped packaging that makes applying it feel like a little luxury moment in itself.

It comes in a handful of flattering shades, from sheer, glowy neutrals to softly tinted pinks and berries. I picked up a few shades, but my go-tos are Shade 44 Nude Lavalliere, a delicate nude with the perfect amount of warmth, and Shade 7 Strawberry Star, a rosy flush that’s ideal for brightening up my makeup-free days.

My Review After a Week of Use

I’ve been wearing these nonstop for about a week now and I’m genuinely impressed. The texture is beautifully lightweight and never tacky, and the subtle plumping effect is more of a cooling tingle than a sting (no uncomfortable burning here). My lips feel soft and hydrated even after the gloss wears off, which is a win on its own.

I also love how versatile it is. Swipe it on alone for a natural, juicy lip or layer it over lipstick for a glassy finish. The colour payoff is sheer but buildable, giving your lips that healthy, lit-from-within glow.

Hermes chose to use a small-sized applicator that doesn't swallow too much oil to apply the product. The small applicators give a thinner and even layer to the lip. I did manage to build it up for a more pronounced tint.

All of the lip care oils contain notes of sandalwood and arnica. But each has its character:

• Rose Pitaya: Fresh pink with dragon fruit.
• Corail Bigarade: Sunny coral with Seville orange.
• Beige Sapotille: Soft beige with a bright orange note. It has a touch of tropical fruit & creamy caramel.
• Pourpre Camarine: Fruity violet scent borrows its purple hue from crowberries.
• Rose Kola: Elegant rosewood with spicy kola nut.

Adapt Your Style

Hermes Beauty Hermesistible Lip care oils are the real thing.

I tried many different techniques with them and here are my favourites:

The glossy lip: I simply applied them alone onto a natural lip. This is a perfectly natural, glowing look. It also adds volume to the lip by reflecting the light.

The comfortable lip: I started by applying a touch of oil to my top and bottom lip. Smoothing it out before applying my regular lipstick. This adds comfort to the lip and an easier application with products such as matte lipsticks. Try not to go overboard or it can affect the lasting result of your other products.

The lacquer lip: You can apply this product over your regular lipsticks, I did so by using a makeup brush but you can also place some oil on the back of your hand and apply it with your fingertips. This keeps your applicator clean and the product as it should be.

My Review

I like a glossy look on my lips but all the glosses I have tried either are very sticky or leave my lips dry. Most of the lip glosses available are clear and the coloured ones do not offer a good pigmentation. The ingredients are usually synthetic in lip glosses to provide shine.

Clarins lip oils are everything you can ask for in a lip gloss. First of all, the natural oils used as ingredients are great on your lips. It includes Jojoba, hazelnut and raspberry oils. They help provide nourishment to your lips and make them look soft. The colour is subtle and the formula is non-sticky. Due to the natural ingredients used, it is safe to use. Some of the shades are pH reactive, they adapt according to the natural tone of your skin and lips. The glossy look it gives does not look tacky but rather chic.

I also enjoy the shimmer version of Lip Comfort Oil during the fall and winter.
