The Harmonist

A brand that joins traditional French parfumerie to the philosophy of Feng Shui. Lola Tillyaeva released “The Harmonist” in 2016. Through her fragrances, she hopes to offer balance and wellbeing. Strongly believing in self-discovery, they hope to encompass and enlighten those that wear the fragrances. I was really impressed by the house when I tried Matrix Metal a few months ago.

Feng Shui

Feng shui, an ancient Chinese tradition that revolves around a balance of yin and yang, the five elements and energy forces. This brings harmony to the individuals with themselves and their surrounding environment.

Yin transformation: Eau De Parfum

This Eau De Parfum is about embracing today's joys and tomorrow's journeys. Captured inside its elegantly modern blue bottle is a floral concentrate. With sparkling, fresh notes this perfume is sure to spark some light in you. Available to purchase in 50ml, the perfume is sold at 250$. If you wish to try before you buy then choosing the sample format (1.5ml) is a good idea. The fragrance is classed in the aquatic family. A multitude of flowers represents the transformational power of water.

The Five Elements

The brand is designed around Feng shui and the five elements: wood, fire, earth, water and metal. The harmonist believes that these are the building blocks of each person. Interconnected yet opposing, they enhance or restrict each other. Inside all of us are all five elements but we are guided by a particular one.

The Notes: Yin Transformation

Top Notes: Bergamot, Mandarin, Pink Peppercorn

The perfume opens up with some dynamic citrus notes. Balanced out by the pink peppercorn, the bergamot and Mandarin become sweet and refreshing.

Middle Notes: Calypso Orchid, Bulgarian Rose, Mate Tea.

At the heart of the perfume is a deeper floral touch. The Calypso orchid has a more fruity character, but balanced with the rose it adds elegance.

Base Notes: Iris, Sandalwood, White Musk

Finally, we get soft, comforting notes of iris and sandalwood. These two notes add hours to your perfume. The white musk is powdery, perfect for harmonizing all of the notes.

My Experience

My first impressions were good. This perfume is so fresh and easy to wear. I particularly enjoyed the floral notes that are underlined with Sandalwood. Overall, I would say this perfume is suitable for people of all ages.

I found the longevity of the perfume to be correct, lasting around 4/ 5 hours. If you enjoy more intimate, aquatic fragrances that boost your senses then this is for you. It is a definite mood booster and is a breath of fresh air in the perfume world. Elegant, modern and awakening, this perfume has its uniqueness that is worth the discovery.

Fire

Hypnotizing Fire is the subtle fragrance with a combination of Madagascan vanilla and Benzoin. Velvet Fire is a captivating scent that embraces like a beam of the midsummer sun. Vibrant but not overbearing, it's a bright Yang aroma that arouses flames.

Water

Guiding Water is a refreshing perfume like morning dew on flowers. Cyclamen, jasmine, and Fleur-de-Lys blend with an ozonic accord. Therefore, I love the wonderful Yang scent that stimulates and relaxes my inner peace.

Wood

Magnetic Wood is a fascinating aroma. It has Sweet osmanthus, green mandarin, and refined iris root. Unlike the moving leaves of an ancient tree, golden wood is a beautiful perfume. Even Tobacco and Paraguayan cabreuva wood blend with elemi pepper and bright tangerine deepen the Yang scent that settles in our thought.

Earth

Royal Earth is a gorgeous earthy flavour fragrance. Its Yin aroma pulls and empowers the emotions inside us. Desired Earth is a lovely smell that uplifts the lingering Yang fragrance concept. Ambrette seeds, cade Wood, as well as patchouli provide a smoky comfort to Peruvian tolu balsam.
