Krigler Lovely Patchouli 55 Classic Perfume Review

Krigler Lovely Patchouli 55 Classic Perfume Review

I love niche fragrances and my latest discovery is Krigler Lovely Patchouli 55 Classic Perfume. Krigler Lovely Patchouli 55 Classic Perfume is a sweet, spicy, woody fragrance. You might say sounds like a winter scent but for me, it is my mood which motivates me to pick my scent with a slight involvement of the weather.

I can say I will wear it more during the winter season due to its spicy qualities but on the other hand, I am also enjoying this beautiful scent while reading a book and in between watching the cherry tree in my backyard through the window. The fragrance was launched in 1955.

Krigler Lovely Patchouli 55 Classic Perfume is a simple yet satisfying scent. It is a smooth and lovely composition of leather and patchouli. There is a very natural balance between the patchouli and the leather. And that makes them both compliment each other while keeping the combination sophisticated at the same time. It is one of the most beautiful patchouli scents I have tried. It is earthy and sweet, fresh and smooth. The longevity on me is very good while the sillage is nice. My wrist draws to my nose often when I feel that I have lost the scent.

I have stayed in the South of India for a few years and I clearly remember the scent of freshly crushed patchouli leaves. They have a bright, crisp green tang and a soft woodiness, and the scent is subtle and brief. I do get the same vibe and distinct herbal smell of green patchouli from the scent like I am in a deep jungle in India where there is a lot of Patchouli.

The keynotes of Krigler Lovely Patchouli 55 Classic Perfume are Patchouli, Amber, Bergamot, and Leather. This was the last fragrance created by the house's founder Albert Krigler before his death.

Krigler says, “Albert travelled from France to the Philippines himself to source the patchouli flowers, he was 92 years old at the time, so that tells you important it was to him to get the highest quality raw materials in the world. It was his idea to create a fragrance that was woody, but not too overpowering, floral, but with depth.” I am really impressed with how lovely this fragrance is, rightly named Lovely Patchouli 55.

As much as I am loving Lovely Patchouli 55 Classic Perfume, I am also enjoying the scented candle from the house. It is not in the same scent category but more like spring and summer. It is floral and fresh – Pleasure Gardenia 79 Scented Candle.

Pleasure Gardenia 79 Scented Candle

Pleasure Gardenia 79 Scented Candle is inspired by Krigler's first fragrance. That is Kyoto's garden painted in gold on a traditional Japanese folding screen. The most exciting fact is that the original Pleasure Gardenia 79 fragrance was created by Albert Krigler for his fiance. He was so pleased by the result that he decided to start selling it. And interestingly it is one of the brand's best sellers and most-loved scents till now. The scent is a celebration of love.

Like the rest of the scented candles from the brand, Pleasure Gardenia 79 Scented Candle is made with essential oils, and soy wax, and filled with the elegant Krigler fragrance. Pleasure Gardenia 79 Scented Candle is a rich scent with key notes of Gardenia, Jasmine, Mimosa, Musk, and Vanilla. The candle has blended into the vibe of my home so beautifully. I am enjoying it during the quiet evenings, it makes me feel cozy and happy.
