Guerlain, for years, has had a connection with my feelings of being happy, healthy radiance, freshness, and special. And what could be the best time to feel it other than spring. Spring brings with it the new life, new inspirations, new ideas, and new makeup, yes. Guerlain Spring 2018 collection, named ‘Meteorites Glow With Love' is all about radiance and complexion perfection. The collection is very stunning and consists of KissKiss LoveLove Lipsticks in 5 shades, Meteorites Heart Shape Glow Shaping-Strobing Palette, and Meteorites CC Glow Color Correcting Highlighters in 3 shades. I will be reviewing the KissKiss LoveLove Lipsticks in shades 570 Coral and 571 Beige, Meteorites CC Glow Color Correcting Highlighters in all 3 shades.
KissKiss LoveLove Lipstick
KissKiss LoveLove Lipstick (CAD $45) is described as the perfect blend of color and luminosity which delivers flawless coverage to offer a vibrant, satiny finish with impeccable hold. The formula is enriched with hyaluronic acid spheres, mango butter and Commiphora Oil which all help in keeping the lips hydrated, plump, soft, and comfortable. The packaging of the lipstick is so beautiful, and as we approach Valentine's day, in a pink case with rainbow accents. The lipstick bullet is in the shape of a heart and is designed to hug your lips in the right shape of cupids bow. The lipstick has a subtle vanilla and red berries fragrance which fades away in some time.
The lipsticks are very comfortable to wear and the pigment is nice, not intense. My personal preference is sheer or medium pigment for routine, and these sit in my preference. The staying power is good, 3 to 4 hours without drinking or eating anything. The formula did not dry my lips. The packaging is stunning, so I will have one in my handbag and other on my vanity.
Meteorites CC Glow Color Correcting Highlighters
Meteorites CC Glow Color Correcting Highlighters (CAD $50) are color correctors that are designed to target and correct skin tone imperfections while giving radiance and rejuvenating effect. They are based on the principle of Colorimetry which states that two complementary colors cancel each other out when they are layered. Based on it, three color correctors developed by Guerlain are capable of effectively neutralizing minor skin flaws, dark circles, dark spots, or redness.
There are three shades available in these, namely, Rose, Vert, and Abricot.
Vert or Green – helps to neutralize redness
Pink – helps to refresh dull complexions
Abricot – helps to erase areas of shadow and minor dark spots, and also offset the color blue to counter dark circles
The key ingredients include Myrrh resin extract for radiance and tone tired skin, anti-wrinkle peptides for wrinkle repair and correction effect, Centella Asiatica for soothing, and hibiscus fruit to plump and hydrate skin.
Target and correct complexion flaws with the “Tone-Touring” technique, applying 1, 2 or 3 correcting shades. Pink is applied to the forehead and along the top of the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, chin and cupid’s bow. Green is applied to cheeks and the wings of the nose. Apricot is applied above and below the eyes, or to the lip contour to erase shadowy areas and create the impression of volume.
Coming to the Meteorites CC Glow Color Correcting Highlighters, I am a fan of anything Meteorites from the brand. I still have my first jar of Meteorites I bought a few years back and have been buying the limited edition one's every year as a collector. They are the best when it comes to Meteorites and the Terracotta Bronzing powders, so no doubts about these two. So the Meteorites CC Glow Color Correcting Highlighters have Meteorites name in them, means they are supposed to give the radiance along with correcting the problem areas depending on the skin's concern. The packaging is in a shiny sleek tube which has a rotating end which when rotated clockwise dispenses product from the brush side.
I have tried all of them, as a tired mommy of two, I am always in need of complexion refresh and to look awake, with few dark spots from my breakouts, luckily I do not have any breakouts since some time now but still have few dark spots and redness. I always make sure to have a nice base, first layering my skincare and then a primer followed by makeup. The primer I am loving and using every day is Guerlain L’Or Radiance Concentrate with Pure Gold reviewed here. The formulas of these Highlighters is fluid yet very smooth, blends in easily with the skin, evens out the skin, and gives a radiant finish.
