Rouge Dior 2017 – Dior Rouge Liquid and Double Rouge – Review

Rouge Dior was first created in 1953 and after that, it has been through many evolutions, coming out as a better version than the best. Rouge Dior has reinvented again with two new lipsticks demonstrating the expertise of Dior as a color creator. Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup revealed two Rouge Dior innovations for this year called Dior Rouge Liquid and Double Rouge.

Dior Rouge Liquid and Double Rouge

Dior Rouge Liquid is the first liquid formula from Dior with multiple effects and surprising color impact. It is strong new innovations with vibrant matte, satin, and metallic finishes. They have intense color, lightness, coverage, and long wear. It is very comfortable to wear. The formulation of the Dior Rouge Liquid comprises the combination of three innovations into one. The first one is the Liquid Intensity which combines powerful color and long wear. The formula contains Eosin which extends the wear time to almost 12 hours.

The second innovation is Liquid effects which give the pure and vibrant finishes in matte, metal, and satin which all have a balance of pigments and iridescence. The matte effect has 2 to 7% of pigments, the satin effect has 1 to 3% of pigments with 4 to 7 % iridescence. The metallic effect has 17 to 20 % iridescence. Aren't these facts and numbers interesting? The third innovation is Liquid care which never lets stint on comfort during application due to the powder coated with silicon resin for perfect glide on the lips, the combination of a synthetic mineral wax and a gelling agent provides a creamy texture, a combination of 4 oils that contribute to lip care while providing a weightless sensation.

Dior Rouge Liquid and Double Rouge

The four type of liquid effects of Dior Rouge Liquid available in 29 shades are Liquid Rock Matte ( absence of shine, with high colour impact), Liquid Electric Metal ( metallic effect which is intense similar to the finish of nail varnish), Liquid Pop Satin ( like a delicate satin ) and Liquid Velvet Nude ( light and creamy beige to neutralize the natural lip colour or can create the sixties style look). The packaging is very luxurious in the black case with a see-through on one side, the fine applicator is perfect and follows the lip line and the reservoir that delivers the right dose of the product.

The shades I am swatching are 424 Hypnotic Matte, 515 Scandalous Metal and 895 Fab Satin. I have used all these shades and found them all very creamy and comfortable to wear. The intensity of the shades is immense and the wear time longer than the normal liquid lipstick, around 6-7 hours which is really good. They never made my lips look dry or irritated them. These are one of the most comfortable liquid formula I have used.

Dior Rouge Liquid and Double Rouge

Double Rouge has created a new trend which fuses the matte and the metallic in one lipstick tube, so interesting right? The Dual-textured Dior Double ROuge delivers an ombre effect due to the highly pigmented matte outer ring combined with a metallic core that catches the light. The two shades are chosen as such that they harmonise, creating a sophisticated finish and an optical illusion of volume. The Shades swatched for Double Rouge are 510 Jungle Beige and 239 Vibrant Nude. I have used this lipstick and as usual with the Dior formulas, I do like this a lot, it is very creamy and the fusion of two shades together when applied on the lips create a very nice shiny nude lips with an extra volume, and the lipsticks that plump the lips is a big yes for me.
