I know you might be thinking that we are already in the new year (thank god) and why am I sharing the holiday collection from last year – is because I received the collection on the last day of the last year and while testing the products, I could not stop myself to share more about them and also I noticed that the limited edition products are still available on their official website as well as selected retailers. Coming back to what the collection includes and what are my favourites.
YSL Beauty Holiday 2020 Collection includes basically everything needed for a full face – eye and face palette, lipsticks, and concealer – all in limited edition packaging. Encre de Peau mini cushion highlighter is a new highlighting sheer formula for a luminous look on the go. I have not used the original cushion but the formula of this mini cushion is very smooth and lightweight.
It blends in pretty nicely, gives a beautiful and natural luminous finish. For my medium skin with tan undertones, this shade works ok as it is sheer and a little is all I need to use. It is encapsulated in a gold glitter babycat pattern case for the wildest and most festive look.
Coming to my most favourite of all time, Rouge Volupté Shine in limited edition holiday packaging. I have been a fan of its melting texture and the scent of it for years now. I have used it more as a lip balm for years, it is so nourishing and the plus point is that it imparts colour to the lips that are very comfortable. The ingredients have 6 sensorial oils that enhance lips with their melty texture and fresh colours. The same formula is now available in 4 festive red and pink shades (all swatched below), encapsulated in a black baby cat pattern on a shimmery golden case, for the wildest and most festive look.
Another favourite is Touche Éclat Le Stylo is the same original and iconic face illuminator that instantly gives 8 hours of beauty sleep in one click, for a radiant, luminous looking complexion on-the-go. Touche Éclat Le Stylo in 2 shades in a limited edition gold-shimmer babycat pattern, for the wildest and most festive look.
I have only seen and swatched shade 2 Ivoire Lumiere in this limited edition packaging, which for me personally does not match my skin tone but overall I have used this highlighter/concealer in the past and have loved it.
Couture Colour Clutch Eyeshadow Palette in 10 festive shades and different finishes in a limited edition packaging. The shades work well for audacious & buildable eye looks. The finish of the eyeshadows is matte, pearly, satiny, and metallic finishes. I did not find the formula to be very pigmented but otherwise, the texture is smooth and no issues applying it. The 10 festive shades are encapsulated in a red glitter babycat pattern, for the wildest and most festive look.
The iconic Rouge Pur Couture is available in limited edition packaging. Rouge Pur Couture is a full-coverage satin lipstick with good pigment and longevity. The formula has a comfortable texture, saturated in pigments, for couture and satiny lips. The formula is intensely hydrated, leaving them feeling soft and smooth. The collection includes 4 festive red shades and in a red-glitter babycat pattern, for the wildest and most festive look. I have swatched 1 Le Rouge for your reference. This formula and lipstick has been in rotation for me for years, it is always good to have the same formula in limited edition festive packaging, right?
