Clé de Peau Beauté skincare is the epitome of luxury. Launched in Japan in the early eighties, the brand started out with a mission to revolutionize skin-cell science. Forty years on, it’s safe to say that it’s done just that – as it remains one of the most advanced skincare brands in the industry. Although the brand offers makeup, to me, their skincare is what stands out. Not only is it science-driven, it feels lovely to use, too. Clé de Peau Beauté Cleansers are a particular favourite of mine. Read on to find out why…
1. Clé de Peau Beauté Micellar Cleansing Water
Not just a micellar water, this cleanser goes a lot deeper thanks to its rosemary-infused water ingredient. It effectively removes makeup, and I find that it is also powerful enough to use as a second cleanse, which is rare for micellar water.
It’s great if you need a quick makeup remover, but can also be a really luxurious product to incorporate into your skincare routine, too. Containing hyaluronic acid (which you won't find in many micellar waters), it helps to keep skin hydrated and quenched all day long.
2. Clé de Peau Beauté Clarifying Cleansing Foam
Cleansing foams are a bit hit-and-miss for me. Some, I find are gentle enough to leave my skin’s natural moisture barrier intact. However, others mostly leave my skin feeling stripped and dry. I can safely say that this isn’t the case with this cleanser. Just one pump of this is enough for your entire face, as it turns into a beautiful, rich lather when it comes into contact with water.
I tend to reach for this when I have blemishes, or my skin is in need of an extra good clean, without the fear that it is going to fill stripped post-cleanse. It contains Scutellaria baicalensis root extract which helps to regulate the skin’s oil production, and diamond powder to boost radiance.
3. Clé de Peau Beauté Eye & Lip Makeup Remover
Ever used a makeup remover that you have had to apply over and over and over again, to get results from? Me too! I’m always a little dubious when it comes to makeup removers, as I never usually find them too effective, and need something stronger to remove my lashings of waterproof mascara.
However, this is different. It is a bi-phase cleanser that removes my stubborn waterproof mascara in one swipe and even has a unique ‘ResiliLock Technology’, developed by the brand to promote the resilience of the skin.
4. Clé de Peau Beauté Makeup Cleansing Towelettes
Perfect for an on-the-go freshen-up, these towelettes are far more than just makeup wipes. While I would usually steer clear of makeup wipes, as they don’t tend to be effective and can cause harm to skin, I make an exception with these.
I find that they remove makeup really easily, so there’s minimal rubbing required. I also find that they leave my skin feeling hydrated and nourished after use.
5. Clé de Peau Beauté Skin Refining Clay Scrub
Lacklustre skin is something that I struggle with. Sometimes, no matter how many potions and lotions I use on it, nothing seems to help. When my skin is feeling particularly drab, I reach for this scrub to help.
It’s rich in minerals and amino acids, as well as naturally-derived beads that polish away dead skin cells. It also has sebum-regulating properties, meaning it’s a must for keeping oily skin at bay.
6. Clé de Peau Beauté Softening Cleansing Foam
As I’ve mentioned previously, I struggle to find foaming cleansers that agree with my semi-sensitive skin. Using a foaming cleanser on dry skin types is usually a no-go, but this one is totally dry-skin-friendly.
It’s based on the brand’s ‘illuminating Complex EX’ technology, an ingredient that includes silk, diamond and pearl powders, which add an instant shot of radiance to the skin. It’s also got a seriously high hyaluronic acid concentration, so rather than skin feeling stripped and too squeaky clean, it feels nourished and hydrated.
Clé de Peau Beauté Cleansers are truly amazing and they just work.
