Sisley Ombre Éclat Liquid Eyeshadow

Ombre Eclat eye shadow collection is a long-lasting liquid eyeshadow range. Extra-light is like wearing nothing at all. This dreamy texture visibly smoothes the eyelid by reflecting light. With buildable coverage, you can create a soft or more intense make-up, without it settling in the eyelid creases. Equipped with a soft precision tip applicator, it has never been easier.

I am totally in love with these eyeshadows. They are super easy to apply, and the lightweight texture feels refreshing too. I make sure to blend them right after applying. This ensures I am able to get the right coverage and look before it settles in. Once I apply it, it is super comfortable on the eyelids, I don't feel like I have eyeshadow on. The longevity is impressive, it stays on without feathering, smudging or anything, even on my slightly oily lids. All the shades are easily buildable from a lightly tinted glow for the day look to a high intense evening look. It smooths the eyelid and awakens the whole look. I am impressed!

How To Use It?

When applying the eyeshadow use the tip of the applicator. Blend it out with your finger or an eyeshadow brush. Work the shade whilst wet, it dries fairly quickly. It is possible to mix the different shades and build them up for more intensity.

Sisley opted for plant-based glycerin to create these Ombre Éclat Liquid Eyeshadows. This adds suppleness and softness to the product.

Tips: Matte, Satin, Metallic or Sparkle?

Eyeshadows can have so many different finishes. But do you know which one is better for you? There are no rules in make-up, but there are great tips and tricks! Here is some help with the main types of eyeshadow:

Matte: Highly pigmented they deliver full coverage. With no shine or glow, they are perfect for structuring the eye. Ideal for mature people. You can use them to style your brows or liner.

Satin: These shades contain a very light glow, between a matte and a shimmer they are good for natural looks. You can also apply these shades as a blusher.

Shimmer: Generally a good coverage, these shades give off a gentle shine. Reflecting the light they open up their eyes.

Sparkle: As the name says this one sparkles. Reflecting light with its glitter particles, you can wear these shades alone or over others. Mature people should avoid these shades, as they mark fine lines and wrinkles.

Givenchy Atelier Couture Eye Palette (CAD $82) is a limited-edition palette features four vibrant, matte shadows to enhance the eyes and brows. It has an innovative semi-rigid foam applicator for precision, these highly-pigmented shades can be used to create a versatile range of looks, from soft and timeless to bold and daring. The rich, deep brown symbolizes the wood of the stockman and acts as the perfect shade for structuring both the eye and brow. The orangey-red and navy blue recalls the designer tape used in the studios, while the white is an ode to the cotton canvas that covers the bust.  The square applicator is like the chalk used by designers to sketch designs onto patterns.

The formula of the eyeshadow palette is very smooth and blends easily. The texture is matte. The pigmentation of the shades is good, right enough that you do not overdo even with a heavy hand, the swatches below for reference.

I used it today and still wearing it in the evening, the glow is so natural and luminous. I swiped the highlighter on the highpoints of the face after my foundation, you can use it on the no-foundation days to give that glow to your skin. The formula is very smooth and light and the same time blends in easily.

Givenchy Khôl Couture Waterproof Eye Pencil – Champagne

Givenchy Khôl Couture Waterproof Eye Pencil (CAD $31) is described as a retractable waterproof pencil designed to define and highlight the eyes with precision. Featuring a smooth, creamy texture and vibrant color, this long-wearing formula resists heat and humidity for all-day wear.  This beautiful pale gold shade looks absolutely gorgeous in the waterline as a shimmering alternative to nude to get that awake and open eye kind of look.

The staying power is good, still going strong in the evening as I applied it in the morning. It would look great even for daily routine as it looks subtle yet makes a difference to the look. Overall, this is a beautiful collection and all the products are worth checking out based on what you need, whether for daily routine, occasional or as a collector's item. I recently attended the Dior Event for the launch of the Spring 2018 makeup in Canada along with the new skin care products that I will feature in my upcoming posts. Spring is all about color, freshness, and life. The collection for spring 2018 depicts the same freshness, color, and vibrancy like spring. I am reviewing two most talked about products from the collection and the Lip Glow Addicts that I will feature in a separate post. Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Glow Addict Edition and 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow palette Glow Addict Edition which are both limited edition.

Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Glow Addict Edition – Holographic Gold 002

Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Glow Addict Edition is designed to sculpt and enhance the complexion with the intense glow. Highly concentrated in holographic pearlescent pigments, its lightweight texture blends seamlessly with the skin, bathing it in shimmering shades of light. For naturally glowing skin, this powder is available in two spring shades, embossed to evoke the delicate tulle of a couture dress. The shade I am reviewing and swatching here is Holographic Gold 002.

It is a gold peachy iridescent color that is more on the sparkly side, and depending on your taste, it could be well suited. For me, It would be great for the evenings and for the Indian parties where I need that extra sparkle, not the chunky kind of extra but noticeable. I keep my makeup and highlighter subtle during the daytime due to my work environment but that is just me. For everyday use, I will stick to my Dior Diorskin Nude Air Lumizer in shade 004 reviewed here. The formula is smooth, blends easily into the skin and the staying power is good. The Holographic Pink 001 shade is suited for cool-toned radiance while Holographic Gold 002 is for the warmer toned radiance.

5 Couleurs Eyeshadow palette Glow Addict Edition – 667 Flirt

5 Couleurs Eyeshadow palette Glow Addict Edition is renewed with two blossom-bright palettes for this collection: one is electric, one more pastel. The palette I am reviewing here is 667 Flirt. This palette has shades – a pastel grey, a rosewood, a rosy taupe, a pearly white, and a contrasting black. The shades of the palette and the embossing on it are so beautiful like you just want to buy it for that. It looks so girly and springs like, like that feeling of newness and joy. The formula is very finely milled, blends easily and the finish is very smooth with a little sheen. The shades have a nice pigment and are buildable.

Overall, both Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Glow Addict Edition and 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow palette Glow Addict Edition are worth checking out, both for makeup starters, makeup lovers and for collectors too.

This eyeshadow is packaged in a small clear glass jar with black heavy plastic lid with Chanel logo. The little eye shadow jar does look very cute. The shade of this eyeshadow is peachy/pinky beige with a metallic sheen. The formula is very buildable. With one swipe, it gives a semi opaque coverage and with two or three swipes it gives full coverage. I do prefer one swipe over my lids and I get that semi-opaque sheen which looks natural as well as very pretty on the eyes.

The formula is very soft and blendable. I did not notice any creasing on my eye sockets and this stayed on really well for over 11 hours. It may have stayed longer but I normally remove my makeup in few hours after I am back from work. This eye shadow can be used either with an eye shadow brush or with a finger tip, I use it both ways and it works well.

I am really in love with the formula and the sheen it provides, I am definitely going to look into more shades in this formula. This retails for CAD $40 excluding taxes.

I got them in colors Moonlight and Sunlight and totally compliment my skin color and tone. They are a really great duo to work as a blush and as a luminizer together or can be used separately. As i have combination skin, it gives hydration to my skin as well a natural radiance. I have tried using them both on over my makeup as well as on no-makeup, and it gives really natural and dewy look to my cheeks. As for the luminizer, i have used it alone to highlight over my makeup and with the blush with which it just compliments it with a very radiant skin.

The ingredients are just as expected from this brand, no issues with that. Packaging wise, It is a cream stick-like blush at the end cap and a illuminator in the tube. I swipe the blush on the apples of my cheeks, then blend with a brush outwards diagonally towards my ears. Top it off with the luminizer on my cheek bones and buff. Other times, I mix a few drops of the luminizer into my foundation to perk my complexion up. This product has not caused any breakouts or other skin concerns over my combination, sometimes acne-prone skin.

As for the sunlight shade, i use it over my cheeks to give a rosy glow on top of the blush or on my brow bones when using pink and peach tone eye shadows.

And for the moonlight, it is a light iridescent shimmer with a cool subtle lilac tone. I use it for brow bones, cupids bow and cheekbones to brighten and illuminate any look.

It is an added bonus to have both blush and luminizer together and over that, quantity of the product is good for the price. And as i am pregnant, this has become just one more reason to glow.Loving it!
