The Delina Scented Candle

The Delina fragrance is designed around a bouquet of unique and powerful flowers. In the heart of each product lies the rose of Turkey.

Delina is the candle that transforms your house into your home. The scented candle comprises white wax and a light pink casing. The symbolic logo on the front of the candle reflects light, just like the scent itself.

The Notes

Top Notes: The first notes to appear after lighting the candle are Rhubarb, Lychee, and Bergamot Essence. This sweet trio instantly lifts the mood in the room.

Middle Notes: The fragrance's heart is the Turkish Rose, Peony, and Vanilla notes. Bringing a comforting, warm touch to the candle, you will smell these notes throughout the day.

Base Notes: The last notes make this candle sensual and have an earthy touch. This trio always works to perfection. Cashmeran, Musk, Vetiver

My Review

I can't get enough of scented candles or Delina perfume. It excited me to see if this candle lived up to the scent. I lit the candle for 2 hours each time and loved the comforting touch it added to my home. The fragrance travels around the space and sets a relaxing mood. The candle releases the scent in bursts of perfume. After hosting an evening, I also got compliments on how great my house smelled and looked.

The Inspiration

Dating back to the period of Louis XV, this fragrance was inspired by the “bath pavilions”. The King had made multiple luxurious bathrooms in his castle where art and well-being reigned.

From this, Parfum de Marly designed a range of body products such as oils, creams, shower gels, etc.

Delina Body Oil

• The scent: The Delina perfumes are sculpted around the majestic Damanesca rose. It is an iconic, addictive scent with fresh bursts of rose, lychee, peony and grapefruit. One of the things I adore about the oil is that you can smell the warm base of vanilla and musk being released.
• The texture: The body oil is a ” dry oil”, meaning that it has a light, non-greasy texture. Easy to work on the skin, the oil doesn't stain or stay on the skin's surface. Deeply nourishing and hydrating, using an oil regularly on the skin helps improve evenness and softness.
• How to wear: You can wear this oil with all of the fragrances from the Delina collection. For a longer-lasting scent, apply the oil and then perfume the skin.

Using the oil alone is an excellent option if you are a fan of a more intimate personage.

My Experience

I purchased the oil not so long after buying the fragrance itself. I have used it both with and without the perfume, and both approaches give off a different scent. Above all, I love to smell good from head to toe, so this was a blessing. I used it all over my body for a healthy, natural glow. Although this is not a skincare product, the oil formula helped moisturize and relieve my dry skin. If you're a lover of roses or looking for a beautiful gift to offer, this is a no-risk purchase.

The Inspiration

The entire Delina collection was inspired by strong characters from the times of LouisXV. Parfums de Marly created Delina to celebrate women and their transition from tradition to “freedom”.

Using the hand-picked, majestic Damanesca Rose from Turkey. He sculpted the different faces of the rose to create a fresh and floral perfume.

The Delina Collection

Made up of three iconic fragrances, Parfums de Marly offers different takes on the original Rose note. So which one suits you best?

• Delina: Elegance in a bottle. The addictive notes of Rose and Litchi mix to create a fresh, fruity perfume.
• Delina la rosée: The fresh morning dew. A fresh aquatic perfume that refreshes the senses. The little rose and water flowers offer a fresher version of Delina.
• Delina Exclusif: sophistication at its best. The classic rose takes a more Ambered scent with a more mysterious character. Wrapped with notes of incense, this perfume has a more intense fragrance.

Delina Exclusif

I selected Delina Exclusif as I love the sweeter, warmer approach. Dressed in a more vibrant pink bottle than the other fragrances, Delina Exclusif keeps her mysterious scent hidden until the last. With a higher concentration (Parfum), this perfume has a stronger presence throughout the day.

The Notes

• Head notes: The perfume is a fresh surprise. Starting on a fruity note with pear, litchi and grapefruit. Although I love this note in the perfume, it tends to fade after 1 hour.
• Heart notes: Once the head notes have settled, you can fully admire the heart of Delina. With its beautifully balanced powdery sweetness, the Rosa Damascena lifts the perfume. Accompanied by a darker side of rich incense and vetiver.
• Base notes: Last, we come to my favourite fragrance part. This is where the warm and comforting notes are revealed. Present from the moment you spray the perfume, the vanilla, music and every form of a second skin. Music can have a very close scent to human skin, which makes it ideal for a longer-lasting perfume.

My Review

With a high price range per bottle, I understand that Delina Exclusif can ring the alarms. But it's completely worth it! Why?

1. Longevity: Parfum is one of the highest concentrations a fragrance can have. This means your perfume lasts longer and generally gives off a wake as you walk around. I wear perfume of my liking but love to get compliments about it.
2. Contrast: This perfume is all about contrast. Fresh and warm, Floral and earthy, elegant and fierce.
3. Originality: The perfume markets are saturated with Rose based perfumes. So why buy this one, right? The brand has mastered taking classic notes and revealing a different face.
4. Body range available.
5. Smells fantastic: Perfume is a personal choice, and no two people will live the perfume the same way. Scents have a funny way of bringing back memories, and this one hit all the right spots for me.

“Delina la rosée” Perfume

Piercing through the frosted glass bottle is a young and vibrant version of the original Delina perfume. With a blend of transparent water flowers and sweet, rosy peony the fragrance is a contemporary reflection of the luxury of nature. The sky, water and earth are captured inside Delina la rosée's mixture. The perfume is available in 30ml and 75ml.

The Notes

Top Notes: Lychee, Pear, Bergamot Essence.

The opening notes of the perfume are bursting with energy. A fruity cocktail adds a touch of fresh sweetness to the fragrance.

Heart Notes: Turkish Rose, Peony, Transparent flowers.

Adding a fresh, dewy morning vibe to the perfume are the floral notes. Rich, powdered and elegant. They will leave you feeling classy and ready to face the day.

Base Notes: Softwood, White Musk, Vetiver.

What better way to add sensuality to a perfume than smooth woody notes? Enhancing this is the white musk. If pureness had a smell, it would be white musk.

The story behind the Delina Collection

The Delina collection is built around the majestic note of the Turkish rose. The perfume is an acclamation to bright and sensual femininity with its light rosy colour. Delina la rosée is a fresher, more aquatic interpretation of the original. The collection has a total of 3 fragrances and multiple complementary products such as body and hand cream.

My Experience

Although this brand can be a little complicated to get hold of, it is well worth the effort!

I am always a bit reticent when it comes to fresh, floral Eau de parfums but this fragrance completely revolutionized my way of thinking. With its sparkling fruity notes, it immediately leaves a fun, elegant wake.

The perfume has longevity of around 5-6 hours, perfect for a day at work or out with friends. As it wolves on the skin, it gains a more powdered sensual finish. Present but not overpowering this fragrance is a great everyday option.

Another thing I enjoyed about the fragrance is that the floral notes don't smell like old women's perfume. They have a young, modern touch.

The price certainly made me think twice. But Parfum de Marly fragrances have a special character and signature that you will find nowhere else.

If you want to intensify the scent, use the Delina Hair Mist or Delina Body Cream. Did you know that adding a neutral moisturizing lotion to your slim before your perfume can add 1-2 hours to your perfume? This perfume ticks all the boxes and would make a great spring/ summer fragrance.
