Parfums de Marly is launching the Spring/ Summer perfume with their new Perseus perfume release. The refreshing and captivating essence is rich in citrussy and luminous notes. 

The Perseus perfume invites us to revisit the brand's history: The Parfums de Marly castle. At this royal residence, catching the first sun rays spreading across the lush gardens was not uncommon. It is from this moment of pure beauty that Perseus is imagined.

The Perseus scent is radiant and combines a blend of classical male perfume notes. The perfume leaves a powerful and hypnotic trail from Grapefruit's freshness to Vetiver's greenness and earthiness.

The Notes

Head notes: The perfume opens with a citrussy and refreshing blend of Grapefruit, Bergamot, and Blackcurrant Bud. Fruity and sweet, these notes slowly fade over time.

Heart notes: In the heart of the Perseus fragrance is a more masculine and green blend of Vetiver, Green Mandarin, and Geranium. Vetiver is a well-known perfume ingredient that men and women generally adore for its earthy tones.

Base notes: The perfume closes out with a smooth, long-lasting woody blend: dry woods, Cashmere wood, and an Ambergris accord.

My Review

The Perseus scent is divine in all senses! From its glorious yellow bottle to its warm and comforting scent. Like the first ray of light in the morning, this perfume instantly boosts your mood and completes your outfit with a luminous aura. I recommend it to those who like fresher scents, such as Hugo Boss or even Aqua di Gio! The perfume lasted a long time on my husband's, and it's clear to say we both can't get enough of this scent. Parfum de Marly has a good competitor for the best Spring scent of 2024.

My Review

After previously trying Valaya and Oriana, I was curious to try more of the signature collection from Parfums de Marly. Athalia lived up to my expectations and is a beautiful floral fragrance for the cooler seasons. I love how the perfume evolves into a smooth and sensual scent. I applied the perfume once a day, and it lasted all day! It is an intense perfume that definitely adds charisma. One thing I love about this collection is the classy packaging and the whole black look of this scent. I recommend it to floral perfume lovers (orange blossom) who want something a little more enveloping this winter.

Tips And Tricks To Make Your Perfumes Last Longer

Have you ever found the perfume of your dreams but noticed it fades relatively fast? Then fear not; I have put together my top three tips to make your perfume last all day.

• Perfume sticks better to a well-hydrated skin. Before applying your perfume, think of hydrating your skin with a body lotion (which can be perfumed). This leaves an excellent oily layer on your skin, perfect for trapping the olfactive notes of a perfume.
• If you have medium to long hair, spray your hairbrush with the perfume and brush it. This leaves a subtle scent of the fragrance on the hair. Perfect for more intimate moments!
• Apply perfume to the skin, not your clothes. This changes everything! Spraying the perfume on your skin will make it last longer and release itself slower throughout the day. It also avoids staining that beautiful white blouse.

Althair is one of those scents that keeps calling you back for more. I am a huge lover of sweet scents; most of my fragrances contain vanilla. So, I had high hopes for this scent. I decided to try it out over a week and got many compliments from both men and women asking me what perfume I had. Its beautiful scent can warm your day without giving you an unwanted headache. I recommend it and love catching hints of it on my jacket or scarf.

My Review

I was excited to try yet another scent from the Parfum de Marly collection, and Meliora may just be one of my new summer scents.

The fruity, floral perfume is a success on so many levels! I love this perfume for its endless evolution. The scent is perfectly balanced, and I love that you can smell each note in the perfume. I wore it to work for a few days, and it lasted all day long. Perfect for floral lovers who want to step away from the classical powdery touch. Meliora is a fun and dynamic scent ideal for all ages. I recommend it for hotter days or the spring/ summer period, as it is not too heavy and has a clean feeling. The bottles are an actual work of art and elevate your space to an endless class and beauty.

With fall slowly closing on us, I have started to search for my autumn/ winter scent. After using The Meliorna scent this season, I know Parfums de Marly will be a reliable choice.

The Darcy Perfume

Parfum de Marly's Darcy is ranking high when it comes to making one-of-a-kind scents. The Eau de parfum is a vibrant composition of captivating and dynamic notes. The fragrance has a sweet solar touch that perfectly blends into the sensual bouquet. If you are fond of smooth perfumes, Darcy will have you and others under its charm. The Darcy perfume is ideal for a cooler period, such as fall and winter days or nights.

Some scents don't want to stick around! I have a couple of tips to help you keep perfume for a more extended period.

• For a longer lasing scent prefer Eau de parfums or Perfume.
• Apply the scents to hot zones of your skin.
• Spray your coat, scarf, or hat to infuse your outfit with the same scent.
• If you have a neutral body lotion, add a few drops of perfume and let it sit on your arms, chest, etc.
• Spray your hairbrush with your perfume while styling your hair.

My Experience

This fall, I wanted to experience something different from the extra-sweet or woody scents I usually wear. Darcy is an excellent option for all floral lovers wanting something warmer and winter-like.

The perfume lasts all day, and I could smell it on my jacket for days! I love how the notes create a sillage that follows me throughout the day. This got me so many compliments!

The French brand has recently released a new fragrance, “Valaya”. With its pure and radiant bottle, this perfume holds a fresh yet intense scent.

Valaya The Fragrance

The perfume gives off a shining aura from the moment you lay your eyes on it. This brand-new fragrance brings an intimate sensation and a breath of fresh air to all that wear it. Inspired by the petticoat ladies used to wear under their garments during the 18th century, Valaya combines both periods: past and present. The highly fresh scent reminds me of fresh linen.

Made in France, the perfume is the perfect representation of contrasts. Delicate yet powerful, its scent represents all of the feminine qualities. Behind this glorious perfume are two talented noses Julien Sprecher and the French perfumer Quentin Bisch.

The Notes

Below are the notes of Parfums de Marly Valaya:

• Top Notes – The perfume opens up with a burst of citrussy juice: Bergamot, Mandarin, and White Peach.
• Heart Notes – Warming the heart of the fragrance are Orange Flowers, Nympheal, and Vetiver.
• Base Notes – The sensual touch to the perfume comes from the three base notes: Akigalawood, Ambrofix, and Musk.

The unbeatable duo: Mandarin and Ambrofix.

The perfume is built up around these two particular notes. This should be right up your street if you love citrussy scents.

MANDARIN

Known as one of the most comforting notes, the Mandarin used in this perfume is cultivated in Italy. The brand uses both peel and pulp to obtain the note. By doing so, the fruit delivers a juicy facet that is naturally produced.

AMBROFIX

This ingredient is at the heart of the sensual touch the perfume has. Obtained from 100% natural sugarcane, the amber molecule, when in contact with the skin, adds a warm feeling to Valaya.

My Experience

I am familiar with Parfums de Marly fragrances, so I expected high quality and special notes in the new perfume. I am happy that they opted for a fresher scent in their latest collection, and Valaya screams out feminity at its best. The aroma is beautiful and can be worn easily throughout the day. With its citrus notes at the opening, the fragrance evolves and becomes a more intimate and cozy perfume. Ideal for those who don't like overpowering scents, Valaya is the perfect balance between freshness and sensuality. I would class Valaya as medium longevity, meaning that I could still smell it on an evening but very faintly. It makes a beautiful day-to-day fragrance and instantly lifts my mood when wearing it. I also think that Valaya is suitable for different age groups, and the scent reminds me of freshly washed clothes.

If you have yet to discover the scent, it is worth it. Parfums de Marly selects the highest quality actives when creating their scent. The French perfumer Quentin Bisch is behind some fantastic scents such as “Girls can do anything” from Zadig & Voltaire and multiple Chloe Fragrances. Valaya definitely has his touch.
