Givenchy has new signature eyeshadow palettes, called Le 9 De Givenchy, created by Nicolas Degennes, the Makeup and Color Artistic Director of Givenchy Beauty. Givenchy Le 9 De Givenchy Eyeshadow Palette is a palette of nine couture eyeshadows available in five unique and complementary harmonies for an infinite choice of bold and graphic looks. I was very excited after the first look of the palettes was revealed, no doubt the harmonies are beyond gorgeous. Even just by looking at any of the five palettes, you can get creative to define numerous looks.
My Thoughts
I am working with 2 Palettes – 9.02 and 9.05 and really loving how beautifully they are done – the shades compliment each other so nicely in a unique way. Be it a day or night look, natural or intense – you can achieve all within the tones with one palette. The formula is so creamy, smooth and silky, applies so well. It blends so easily and effortlessly.
Be it with a brush or just a fingertip, depending on my need and the finish I am looking for, they are easy to work with. I have used the shades alone as well as layered them, there are no issues. I have even used my finger to give a hint of shimmer or shine on my eyelids, the formula works so well. The formula is pigmented, easily buildable, and comfortable to wear. The longevity of the shades is pretty nice without settling into the crease or fall out once set.
Givenchy Le 9 De Givenchy Eyeshadow Palette Harmony 9.02
Palette Harmony 9.02 Vert Atelier combines earth-tone browns and warm coppers. The bright pop of emerald in the palette is inspired by the latest runway shows.
Givenchy Le 9 De Givenchy Eyeshadow Harmony Palette 9.05
Palette 9.05 Pourpre Pandora offers rustic browns and copper tones, heightened by a rich Bordeaux-red shade, a true ode to Couture.
How To Use?
Per the official website, “use the dual-tip brush to create a variety of makeup looks. Use the flat brush to smooth the powder over the eyelid and blur the colour using the blending tip.
▪ For a nude look: apply the lightest, most luminous shade to the inner corner of the eye, then a neutral one to the mobile lid. Blend both colors towards the outer corner to open out the eyes.
▪ For a sophisticated look: apply the shadow to the center of the mobile lid using the flat side of the brush. Bring definition to the crease of the eye with a matte medium brown shadow, then place a darker shade in the outer corner and blend in.
▪ For a couture look: smooth the palette’s couture shade over the entire eyelid up to the eyebrow arch, shading in the edges with a neutral tone. Extend the powder to the outer corner and apply a lighter, glittery colour to illuminate the inner corner of the eye. Then, define the lower and upper lash lines with a dark shade to intensify the look.”
Formula & Packaging
The palettes feature four finishes, blending neutral tones with sophisticated shades for unending ideas of colour combinations and finishes. The pearly particles of different sizes and concentrations result to offer satin, glitter, and metallic finishes centring around one unique shade that signs each harmony with a positive couture allure. Then there are matte shades without the pearly particles.
The palettes are presented in a luxurious black compact stamped with Maison's signature logo. It also includes a clip-on dual-tip brush for a two-in-one couture finish and looks.
Overall, beautiful Couture Eyeshadow palettes from Givenchy. Again, there is no limit, you can use them as eyeshadows, highlighter, or even a blush based on the look you are looking for.
I also love the Givenchy Prisme Libre loose powder. It is a staple in my makeup routine for ages. There is a reformulated version that I am currently using. My all-time favourite lip care product from the brand is Givenchy Le Rose Perfecto.
