Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Oil-Free Review

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Oil-Free Review

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Oil-Free is a lightweight tinted moisturizer. It provides sheer to medium coverage with a demi-matte finish. In other words, it provides a very natural finish that is not oily and not matte. I am using it for the last few weeks non-stop and really enjoying it. I have combination skin and it is a bit more on the oily side during the summers. There is not a single base that I have tried from Laura Mercier and not liked. It is my go-to when it comes to makeup bases that look natural as well as are comfortable.

Shades

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Oil-Free comes in a nice tube and is easy to dispense the product. I have swatched four medium shades for your reference. I think the shades are forgiving if you go a bit deep or light. The formula blends in and adjusts a bit. 3W1 is the closest match to my skin tone.

  • 3N1 Sand – medium neutral
  • 3W1 Bisque – medium warm
  • 4N1 Wheat – olive neutral
  • 4W1 Tawny – olive warm

My Review

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Oil-Free Natural Skin Perfector Broad Spectrum SPF 20 has a lightweight creamy texture. It blends in beautifully and provides light coverage. Apart from the coverage, it smooths out the skin blurring the pores and problem areas. The natural finish of this moisturizer is not matte but very much a demi-matte or natural matte. Once on the skin, I feel the skin looks fresh and supple overall, more like a healthy complexion and not makeup. As the day progresses, I feel my skin looks more and more radiant. Even at the end of the day, my skin looks radiant but not oily. It does not look cakey and never settles into my problem areas. Also, it is hydrating and soothing on the skin.

When I first started using it, I was expecting it to be mattifying but once I started using it, I feel it to be oil-free as mentioned and not be confused with mattifying. It is comfortable even in the scorching heat these days. Once applied, I feel Tinted Moisturizer Oil-Free more like a moisturizer and like my skin is having a good skin day. I have not noticed any irritation or breakouts since I started using it. It is advised to use a powder if you are very oily but I am in between oily and normal, so I prefer it without powder. Moreover, the look of it is even more to my liking as my skin oils mix with the formula to give a radiant finish. Moreover, the added benefit is the tinted moisturizer has SPF for sun protection.

Overall, I am really enjoying Tinted Moisturizer Oil-Free and can definitely recommend it. For very oily skin types, if you require a finish that is more mattifying, you can either use the Blurring primer and set it with the Translucent Loose Powder. The powder is available in universal as well as tinted shades. I also like the original lightweight tinted moisturizer from Laura Mercier. As I said, Laura Mercier bases are my favorite for everyday wear. Over the base, a light swipe of Blush Colour Infusion completes the look.
