The Do Son fragrance is a light and floral scent. Inspired by the childhood memories of one of the brand's founders, it leaves your sensations tingling each time you wear it.

The Inspiration

It is said that odours take us back to a place or person we know, and that's exactly what this perfume was created for.

Taking a step into the deep and fond memories of Yves Coueslants memories. Do Son represents the mixture of scents found as he wandered the streets of Do Son in Ha Long Bay. A fresh sea breeze would whip up the almost spicy scent of tuberoses. In Indochina, at the Haiphong market, tuberoses, jasmine and ylang-ylang are wrapped with large canna leaves to form small offering bouquets.

The Notes

The perfume was created using raw materials such as Tuberose, Orange blossom, and Jasmine. This flower trio works perfectly, making a fresh and comforting floral note. Diptyque also included a deep and almost masculine Marine accord to the perfume. Just like in Do Son, the sea breeze elevates the floral notes.

The Bottle

Classical elegance always amazes me in the Diptyque designs. The Do Son bottle looks like a regular bottle from the front, but from the back, it is possible to admire the landscape from which the fragrance originates. Dressed in a transparent glass bottle, the floral juice captures and reflects light.

My Review

Having travelled around multiple countries worldwide, I know it is a true gift to be able to capture a moment through perfume. Diptyque Do Son fragrance is beautiful, and I love how it instantly boosts ythe mood. Like a breath of fresh air, the scent has a long-lasting and addictive sillage. I only recently discovered this scent, which sits high on my list of floral fragrances. The Eau de toilette is easy to wear and stays long enough thanks to the jasmine notes inside.

Do Son is a fragrance for those who enjoy floral, powdered perfumes. It is well worth discovering, and you can ask for a sample in-store before taking the step to purchasing it.

Choosing a perfume as a gift can feel daunting, but this scent is low risk. It makes an excellent perfume for any time and any occasion.

A modern interpretation of the classical Rose scent

If you love floral scents or roses, this perfume should be up your street. Diptyque released this fragrance a while back as an EDT. In this more recent scent, the flower takes an unexpected turn, leaving you wanting more.

The Eau de rose perfume: Where elegance meets innovation.

This floral perfume has much more in store than a simple powdered rose fragrance. By using some of the best-known techniques in the perfume industry, Diptyque created this unique scent.

It is said that a good rose has a gentle scent of the artichoke to it, and that's just what this perfume reveals. With a trio of roses combined to perfection, the Eau de parfum leaves you with an addictive sillage throughout the day.

The Fragrance

Eau de rose is built around two main ingredients: An absolute of Damascena and centifolia roses. Already present in the fresher version of the scent (EDT), these flowers bring freshness. Therefore, the brand had to find a special touch to make the perfume as unique as it is.

The Firad Rose Essence

This rich rose essence has a fruity accent of litchi to it. It is obtained by upcycling the floral waters that remain after extraction. By using this technique, the more fruity notes of the flower are revealed.

The fragrance also contains notes of honeyed camomile and a singular, green, vegetal accord of artichoke. Combining fruity, sweet and green, the scent gains character and longevity.

The Difference Between EDT and EDP

EDT: Rose damascena, Rose centifolia, Litchi accord, Ambroxan.

The EDT has a fresh green scent to it. In this fragrance version, the Damaneca rose takes the front stage. Using the bud, stem and leaves to obtain a green fragrance.

My Review

Rose-based perfumes always take me back to old memories. When I discovered this scent, I was taken by surprise. The fragrance has the elegance of a rose with a younger, more vibrant accent. I could instantly smell the sweetness of the litchi mentioned in the notes. Also, the bottle is minimal and a good size. The perfume was present for 4-5 hours and worked well on fabrics or accessories. This perfume makes a beautiful gift for the Christmas period and is sure to brighten the person's everyday life. I recommend taking a sample of the scent before opening the bottle. That way, you can always exchange the fragrance if needed.

The 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain collection comprises 19 original products, all sharing the same woody fragrance. Behind this scent is a lifelong story. It is said to replicate the odour of the first Diptyque boutique. The range of products diffuses a fresh, green, almost moss-like note using raw materials. Diptyque used a mix of crushed blackcurrant leaves, floral notes, fragrant spices and the richness of woods and balms to obtain this unique and nose-tingling scent.

Amongst the collection, I have selected 2 amazingly unique and different options: The diffuser and the insert. So let's get to know these bad boys a little more.

34 Boulevard Saint-Germain Home Fragrance Diffuser

Starting with one of the most recent additions to the collection. The diffuser is not only a home scent but a work of art. Captured inside this beautiful case are rattan reeds. The oval glass holder is designed to resemble the emblematic shape of the Maison. This is how your fragrance will be diffused.

The diffuser is perfect for larger spaces and releases Diptyque's signature scent throughout the day. Another plus is that once you have finished the original scent, you recharge or change the fragrance.

The set includes A glass bottle, 200ml 34 Boulevard Saint- Germain fragrance refill, six rattan reeds as well as a funnel.

34 Boulevard Saint-Germain Insert

With a complete collection of 7 fragrances, the 34 Boulevard Saint- Germain can now be enjoyed: at home or in the car. My Experience

I adore Diptyque's fragrances, but this scent sparked my interest. I tried both products for over a week and have a personal favourite. If you are a lover of woody, earthy aromas, look no further, this is the scent for you. The home fragrance diffuser is perfect for perfuming a larger space like a living space or dining area. It releases the scent slowly throughout the day. Gentle but consistent, this is the easiest way to give your home extra comfort.

I used the insert in my electric wall diffuser. Discreet and simple to use, I installed this in my bedroom. The diffuser has a pre-programmed cycle, so no worries if you forget to turn it off. I recommend a 1-hour cycle as the fragrance is a long-lasting scent.

My Review

The wall diffuser is ideal for those who want a simple, no-fuss way of perfuming your interior. Using the same gorgeous scents as in the candles. The diffuser is perfect for those who have younger kids or live a fast life. The fragrance appears quickly and lasts up to 5 hours in a closed space. I love how easy and discreet these are.

Yves Couesant spent most of his summers in beautiful Do Son, Vietnam, on Halong Bay. Memories have a funny way of attaching themselves to smells; for Yves, it was the sea breeze. Flowing through the air was a spicy scent of tuberose, the same one captured in the perfume.

So Why Use A Hair Perfume?

Hair perfumes are different from regular scents in their composition. Fragrances are generally created using an alcohol base, and used pure on the hair can cause dehydration and gradually fragilize the hair. That's why using hair perfume is so essential.

Added to the beautifully scented fragrance is nourishing and protective camellia oil. Bringing balance to the perfume, the oils also nourish your hair.

What's Inside?

Diptyque created this fragrance using raw materials such as Tuberose, Orange Blossom, and Jasmine. Put together, this trio makes a sweet, round note. Warming your hair, the floral bouquet lasts for hours. Yves added an olfactory surprise in the hair mist: sea ​​chord. A core memory that had its place was the sea breeze.

My Review

I often use hair perfumes to add extra intensity to my perfume, so discovering “Do Son” was a pleasure. I loved the fragrance from the first moment I smelt it. The perfume takes me back to my summertime memories with its warm solar floral notes. I applied the hair mist in the morning and tested it throughout my workday. The fragrance lasts all day but gains a more discreet character as time passes.

The perfume is released in a beautiful mist, making it easy to apply and not grease the hair. I enjoyed wearing the fragrance and found it to be a perfect intensity. If you work in an office or a confined space, these are the things you have to think of. This is excellent if you want a gentle, refreshing scent to finish your look.

Diptyque fragrances are so different from over-commercialized products. Made in France using raw and potent ingredients, they craft gorgeous candles for inside and outside spaces. No detail is left aside from the glass holders to the candle itself.

In the Baies candle, you will adore the fruity, acidic touch of freshly picked black currants. The final note is completed with a vibrant rose with a touch of green from the blackcurrant leaves. The candle is available in 5 different sizes.

These candles were designed to fragrance the desired space. Using a clear glass for the smaller formats and a classy black glass for the more giant candles. The brand creates and blows its glass holders. May that be indoors or out.

My Review

As I said earlier, Diptyque Baies Candle is one of my go-to scents to pass from summer to autumn. With a fruity, fresh scent, this candle gets me all the compliments when guests come over. The candle burns equally and can be used for such a long time.

Tip: Let the candle burn for two hours to completely melt the surface. As the wax resets, it releases a gorgeous fragrance. With an eye for detail, Diptyque never disappoints me!
