I am back with yet another fragrance from the dreamy water collection. Today, you will discover the mysterious and hypnotic scent of Eliya.

Now I have set the scene of this fragrance; it is time to reveal this radiant juice's intriguing, warm and fragrant notes. Sisley's Eliya perfume is composed of a tropical bouquet and that earthy “after rain” note. Unique in its kind, this perfume is ideal for those who loved the previously released “Eau Tropicale” from Sisley.

The Dream Water Collection

Do you already know this collection of perfumes? If not, I have your back. The collection has six mixed fragrances, ranging from warm to citrus and unimagined combinations. Dreams inspire the Dreamy Water collection. But not only, they also bring vast amounts of creativity and imagination into our lives. Dreams feed us with images, memories and sensations. All combined can build up to new universes invisible to the eyes.

The Notes

Now we know what universe we are in, it is time to discover the olfactive elements of this fragrance:

The Eliya scent opens on a fresh accord of bergamot, lemon, and exotic flowers. Instantly awakening our senses, the perfume is a great mood enhancer. Following the top notes comes a more floral touch. Released in bursts throughout the day, the Tuberose, Violet, and Jasmine trio add a powerful and lifting scent to the perfume. Like any garden, there are also darker, more earthy notes. Eliya has combined ambrette, cedar, and patchouli to achieve the perfume's mysterious and woody finish.

My Review

After discovering the dreamy waters of Hubert (review here) and Ikar (review here), I was curious to know what the other scents had to offer.

I have always been a lover of the tropical water from Sisley, and this sounded like a parallel universe.

The Eliya fragrance instantly sends your mind spinning into a tropical frenzy. The blend of floral and citrus notes makes this perfume vibrant. I loved how the scent changed throughout the day, but I had to retouch it as it faded after 3 hours. Eliya is perfect as a summer perfume or for those that love fresh perfumes. Easy to wear, I recommend this scent.

If you are a newcomer to the “Dreamy Water” universe, keep reading. Behind each of these scents is a universe of dreams and imagination inspired by generations of the D'Ornano family. Just like Hermes's “garden” collection, you can travel through each of these scents and discover a world of unique and daring ingredients.

I previously tried the new ” Eau Rêvée d'Aria” (review here) and “L’Eau Rêvée d’Isa” (review here). I adore them both.

L'eau de revee d'Ikar / Ikar's dreamy water perfume

The ancient myth of Icarus inspires this powerful and seductive scent. Ikar's dreamy water is composed of green mastic essence and vetiver. Turning your world upside-down, the perfume is made for the adventurous. Combining both elements of sun and freshness, the scent will take you on a journey through the breathtaking landscapes of Corsica—a treasured destination of the D'Ornano family.

The Notes

This unisex fragrance opens up with a tangy citrus note of lemon, bitter Orange, and Geranium. Awakening your senses, this trio invites you to discover the dream's heart.

Sisley is known for there unique blend of ingredients. In this perfume, the less-known spice of Lentisco is used to achieve an almost resin-like scent, combined with Iris's powdery notes and Reed accord's earthy notes. This scent is perfectly balanced. Ikar finishes on a deep green and woody note. Very masculine, the blend of Vetiver and Sandalwood gives the perfume a touch of mystery as you can imagine walking along the rocky coast of Corsica. ALso, you will spot a species of rockrose that creates a resin called labdanum in this perfume, it is sure to spike people's curiosity.

My Experience

I don't know where to start when it comes to this collection. The dreamy waters hit all the right spots for perfume, and I can't get enough of the Ikar scent.

I generally opt for a sweeter perfume, but I love this perfume on my partner. The perfume evolves into a classy, fresh scent that surprisingly last long. I love how Ikar has so many rare ingredients inside, and I recommend this to those looking to step out of the box.

I tried this scent on myself and discovered a more floral finish as the perfume evolves, so definitely give it a go on the skin. This dream sparks my imagination of a fresh summer breeze. A big win from Sisley!

The Perfume

In this edition of Irresistible, the power of femininity is pushed forwards. Celebrating the elegance and rareness of the queen of flowers: the rose. The velvet edition is just as soft as the name. As you spritz the perfume onto your skin, a fruity note of Blackcurrant and rose awakens your senses. Sweet but not sickly, the floral fragrance dresses the skin with a delicious aroma. Following is a powdery Iris note that adds deep texture to the perfume. Combined with White Patchouli and Tender Wood, the smell becomes sensual and classy.

My Review

I am not generally a fan of floral fragrances, but Givenchy has brought a modern interpretation to the rose. The aroma is perfectly balanced, and I love how the sweetness of the Blackcurrant lingers in the air. Irresistible velvet has a smooth finish and got me many compliments during the day. It is a well-thought perfume that is suitable for all ages. I recommend Givenchy Irresistible Eau de Parfum Rose Velvet as it lasts long and smells divine.

Givenchy also released a complimentary range of makeup products. They are dressed in the same creamy pink colour and create the perfect gift or collection items. The perfume is ideal for those who want a medium to high-intensity fragrance. People can definitely find where you have been sitting when wearing it. That said, unlike usual floral scents, I did not get a headache or feel overwhelmed by its powder presence. A great success from Givenchy yet again!

The perfect summer perfume

Not that I need an excuse to buy a new perfume, but summer is here, and new seasons mean new vibes. I recently popped into the Jo Malone store and was handed this fragrance to discover. I knew it was for me when I smelt the warm, spicy note of Cardamom that hit my nose.

The Mimosa & Cardamom Cologne

Jo Malone has a massive range of fragrances, and I always get lost for hours when entering their stores. But this scent was a show-stopper for me. The cologne opens up with an inviting mist of honeyed, golden mimosa. Setting the scene of a summer evening, this ultra-feminine flower is mesmerizing.

In the heart of the cologne lies a spiciness of freshly crushed Cardamom. It immediately took me back to one of my favourite teas. Combined with the creamy tonka note, the perfume is smooth as well as round.

Lastly, a sensual bouquet of sandalwood, heliotrope, and Damask rose is hidden under the two main ingredients. This cologne is perfect for an evening out or placed inside a jacket.

Personnalise Your Scent

What I love most about the Jo Malone cologne range is that you can layer them to achieve a perfume just as unique as you are. Also, the colognes are designed to work in harmony, creating a scent that everyone will be asking you about.

My Review

I have many perfumes from this brand and have always been satisfied. The mimosa and cardamom cologne has a long-lasting scent that leaves a trail as you pass close to others. I love how well-balanced the notes are and recommend this to those who like a sweeter perfume. For those hesitating, the Cardamom is not at all overpowering. This cologne is ideal for a warmer season and feels like the sun shining on your face. I found the scent to have a longer-lasting result when applied to clothes or accessories rather than on the skin. But note that the fragrance will evolve, leaving a sensual and addictive note. One that you won't want to go without.

When vaporizing the perfume, aim for the warmer spots on your body such as the top of the neck, and the chest. If you feel like your perfume is losing its scent too fast, apply the perfume onto your clothes.
Spray your hairbrush with the perfume before brushing your hair.
Add a couple of sprays to your body lotion. Make sure that your body lotion and the perfume will match. Prefer fresher and more neutral ones.
