Laura Mercier has expanded her setting powder category with a new light creating setting powder and I am super excited about it. Laura Mercier Light Catcher Setting Powder is the luminous version of the original powder. The iconic and bestselling Translucent Loose Setting Powder from the brand does not need an introduction. It is one of the best loose powders that I have tried. It is super lightweight, finely milled, and very easy to apply. Therefore, a luminous version of an already amazing product is always exciting.

Laura Mercier Light Catcher Setting Powder is a silky, lightweight, airy powder that feels like a breeze of air rather than a powder. It does not feels heavy or settles into pores or problem areas, same as its original version. This luminous powder blurs my pores and problem areas, making the skin look even and smooth. There is a multi-dimensional pearl blend in the formula that not only imparts radiance but is also flash and camera-friendly. There is no photo flashback. On my combination skin, I have not experienced any congestion. It does not settle on the oily parts of the skin nor does it emphasizes the dry areas.

Shades

Laura Mercier Light Catcher Setting Powder is available in three luminous shades. It has a blend of cool and warm multi-dimensional pearls that catch the light, so it does not matter what the skin's undertone is. Please note that the below descriptions for which shade is for what skin tone are per the official description of the powder. From that I have experience, the three shades of the powder work pretty well on all skin tones. Celestial light works nicely as a highlighting shade for me. As the powders provide very light sheer coverage, they work on all skin tones. Honey Star is my shade for the overall application. Cosmic rose works nicely as a shade to add shadow or depth to the face.

The silky botanical blurring powder in the formula helps blur and smooth the look of pores, texture, and imperfections. Also, the Amino Acid Skin Conditioning Powders in the formula melt into the skin for a sheer finish that improves the look of the skin.

In terms of longevity, Light Catcher Setting Powder performs very well. As the day passes and the natural oils from the skin mix with the products on the top, the radiance does not look oily or greasy at all. The makeup lasts long overall and the skin looks smooth and even. It is forgiving in case I apply a little heavy-handedly. Overall, an amazing launch from the amazing Laura Mercier. It is the perfect combination with the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Oil-Free that I am using non-stop these days. Laura Mercier's Loose setting powder has been a part of my makeup routine for as long as I remember. It was one of the first few things I had when I got interested in makeup and everything beauty. It is one of the best, never looks cakey or gives a grey cast. Also, it does not accentuate problem areas, it is just what I need on the days I wear makeup. It made me so excited when I saw the ‘glow' version of the iconic and cult product from Laura Mercier. I mean the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder Glow.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder Glow is the same iconic setting powder that comes in a glow finish. The original powder is infused with pearl pigments for a healthy glow finish. It does not add weight or texture but creates a radiant finish. It imparts a touch of sheer coverage as it creates a soft-focus effect to subtly blur the fine lines and imperfections. Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder Glow is available in 2 shades, Translucent, and Translucent Medium Deep.

Key Features of the ‘Glow' powder

I have been using the Translucent Loose Setting Powder Glow for a few days now to set my makeup. I have the shade Translucent Medium Deep which is not as dark as it looks in the jar. It is quite sheer and applies beautifully to the skin without giving any coverage. It also imparts a glow to the skin, blurs my problem areas, and does not emphasize the problem areas.

The finish is radiant, not oily or greasy, like the glow from within, do not confuse glow with an oily glow. The powder is very finely milled, very smooth to touch and apply, blends effortlessly into the skin. It does not feel cakey during the day, feels like I have no powder on top. The staying power is nice. I do look dewier by the end of the day as my skin secretes its own oils. It keeps the makeup intact for the whole day and a little is all I need. The powder brush works great with the powder. I have used it even with my other powder brushes and it works well too.

Laura Mercier Glow Powder Brush is the new brush launched with the Translucent Loose Setting Powder Glow. It helps apply the powder evenly on the face. It has a specific structure to glide on easily on the natural curves of the face. The contoured end of the brush can be used to set in the curves of the face. And, also to build glow in key areas like the cheeks, bridge of the nose, and above eyebrows.

With this new Glow Powder Brush, I feel is more control over where to apply. I have sometimes mixed and matched with the original loose setting powder. The original being on the oily areas of my combination skin. And the new ‘glow‘ version above my eyebrows and cheeks. Thus, they both work perfectly together. I am really enjoying the ‘glow' as fall is here and an extra way to feel special is always welcome. I love using this powder over my staples from Laura Mercier. That includes Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation and Secret Camouflage. Also, the Translucent Loose Setting Powder in shade Honey is also a new addition to the loose powder range.
