Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder is the iconic product of the house for decades. It was Guerlain back in the day, in 1984, who invented the Bronzing Powder. And to this day, it remains the best for its unique formula, shade, and sensorial experience. Terracotta Bronzing Powder has relaunched with 96% of its ingredients naturally derived and the rest 4% ensures a perfectly preserved formula and feel. The house takes this step to stay ahead and maintain its long-standing commitment to nature and the environment. So, when the vision is clear, it always drives innovation.

The combination of naturally-derived pigments and the luminescent shimmer gives a beautiful natural glow without any shimmer or glitter. The argan oil in the formula provides hydration. I have not noticed any breakouts and irritation from it. The impeccable sensorial feel it has is so unique. The keynotes include ylang-ylang, orange blossom, tonka bean, and vanilla.

My Review

Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder is a staple in my makeup routine. From the formula, experience, finish, and longevity, it is a gem. Since I came to know of its relaunched, I had mixed feelings. But as I have tried it now, I am happy to say I can not feel much difference in the versions. It is a very lightweight, smooth formula. It is pigmented and blends nicely into the skin. Also, it does not feel or looks dry on the skin. I did not notice any harsh lines and does not accentuate pores or problem areas. It is easily buildable.

Once blended, it looks very natural and gives a beautiful warmth and glow to the skin. Both shades 03 and 05 work for my medium skin with golden undertones. Once on the skin, it adjusts a bit and I am good to go. For a natural everyday look, I prefer 03. For a more sculpted look, I go for 05 with a light hand. It does not look orange or ashy on the skin. Overall, Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder is a staple for me and stays so.

Apart from this newest version of Terracotta Original Bronzing Powder, the powder comes in four finishes in total. I do adore the Terracotta Nude and Terracotta Light which I have just noticed that I have only shared on my social media but not the blog. So, stay tuned for my separate post on them. Guerlain recently launched Abeille Royale Eye R Repair Serum which I am using every day. It is very light and refreshing for the eye area.

I am still swooning over the Guerlain Summer by Terracotta 2018 Collection which I reviewed here and I have two more reasons to be excited with the two limited editions for the famous Guerlain Terracotta line. I am talking about Guerlain Terracotta Sahara Jewel and Guerlain Terracotta Sous les Palmiers which are both limited edition powders for summer 2018. You may find many references of the Guerlain Terracotta bronzing powders for the quality, performance, amazing fragrance, and packaging many times on my blog and on my social handles.

The Terracotta bronzing and blush powder is a collector's item of the summer. It has the best-selling, subtly iridescent Terracotta 03 shade. The 03 shade warms all complexions whiel the pink/coral shade highlights for a sun-kissed glow.

Guerlain Terracotta Sahara Jewel

Guerlain Terracotta Sahara Jewel is all about the natural golden glow which this powder gives to the skin with the warmth and color of it, envisioning the journey to the heart of the desert.

My Thoughts

Both the powders are limited edition and everything from the packaging and the formula is worth checking out and worth falling in love, no doubt Guerlain bronzers are my all-time favorite.

As mentioned, I am a fan of the Guerlain formulas and their effectiveness. The powder has a very fine texture and shade. It is soft and blends beautifully into the skin. The formula is buildable and gives the most beautiful glow to the skin like so supreme yet natural. The staying power is another great thing about the formula, it stays on all day without any touch-ups. The ingredients include a fine blend of pigments that help with the dullness while creating a healthy natural glow.

The two shades work as a bronzer as well as a blush. They both work together to give a subtle natural glow. I use it by applying it in the ‘figure of 3', starting from the forehead to the cheekbones and down to the chin to recreate a freshly sun-kissed glow. The shade works pretty well for my medium tan skin tone as a setting powder, as a highlighter, and also buildable to give me that beautiful natural bronze. The powders blend in so nicely into my skin tone giving the natural radiance and healthy glow to the skin. Guerlain is a brand I trust when it comes to bronzing powders which are a cult favorite too. I use the bronzing powder to create a shadow to define my jawline, under my chin, and also to shape my nose. My skin tone is medium tan with yellow undertones. I am very careful when choosing a bronzer. I do not wantit to look unnatural, ashy, or orange on my yellow undertones. I recently purchased Guerlain Terracotta Chic Tropic Sun Light Duo Bronzing Powder that I am loving.

From my past experience and thoughts, I have trusted Guerlain Bronzers the most. I know you are not going to finish a single bronzer very easily unless you use it every day and use it a lot. For me, my love for beautiful products that work and to use a product so that I can write about it makes me buy these limited edition packaging products with regular and sometimes limited edition products inside. I bought this limited edition Guerlain Terracotta Chic Tropic Sun Light Duo Bronzing Powder which came at the perfect time when summer is here in Canada. The first thing that caught my eye is the beautiful pattern and the packaging of this bronzer.

The beautiful pattern on this bronzer has some golden sheen to it which fades away after few uses and then the original bronzer color comes into work. The golden sheen looks nice on the skin and is not overly shiny or glittery but looks natural and would be best to use during a beach visit or for a party. Once that sheen is used up, the regular bronzer product comes into play which I already have and love.

The packaging of Guerlain Terracotta Chic Tropic Sun Light Duo Bronzing Powder is so beautiful and luxe. The size of the pan is very nice and has a few cm of filling on the sides. The cover of this bronzer has a nice size mirror and is very handy on the go. I have swatched the shades in this bronzer separately. When I combine both brown and peachy orange shades, it gives a nice natural finish on the skin, I do have to use it twice or thrice on the skin to show up nicely. I am okay with doing that as long as I get the most natural results.

I have Shade 3 in regular Guerlain bronzer and this is the same shade in this limited edition product. The powder feels very soft and blends well. The staying power is nice and for me, it stays on well for over 7 hours. As mentioned above, it does have a strong fragrance and I love it, every time I open this bronzer, it makes my mood so happy. I use this bronzer with my highlighter brush, not the fan brush, but something pointy and dense so that I can have a nice natural shadow on my areas that i want to bronze. For shaping my nose, i use a small brush like the MAC 217.
